When I go to accounts & sync it says gmail sync is off, I tap this link and it says calendar, contacts,gmail and picsa ; touch to sync now. I have tried many times. however it always comes back to touch to sync now. Could you please tell me how to sync my gmail account. Bob
When you go into Accounts and Sync settings, Above Manage Accounts, click Auto Sync. Then the icon beside the account will turn green.
In the next few seconds, in the top Notification bar, it will show a little icon that syncs the account.
To see if it is done, click on the account below that says Sync is On, and then on the page that shows what you are syncing it will show the date and time that it last did a sync.
Are you asking about how to adjust or check the frequency at which the email syncs?

If it's not syncing at all, then it could be the button on the Power Control Widget
Why not just add the Power Control Widget on one of your screens and press the Sync button whenever you want it to sync? You could do that.
I do not know if gmail actually pushes their syncs. Like if an email is in your account, your phone syncs soon after....or it is just a regular POP3 email account. If you have other none gmail accounts that are just regular internet service provider email addresses, then they definitely won't push emails to your phone....but for the gmail one, I can not confirm.
Haven't tested....anyone else know?
