Help xperia x8 backlight problem

Hi guys, i have a problem with my Sony Ericsson Experia x8, the backlight turns on even after screen lockout and its draining my battery. would anyone have an idea to the cause of this and what i can do to fix it?
 
Maybe you installed an app recently that is not allowing the phone to go to sleep. Check on the apps that you installed lately into their settings to see if there is one that either "Wake up phone" or has some "sleep policy".
 
As Josh advised, this is likely to be a result of an application setting, please follow the instructions he has provided to try resolve this.
