Xposed issue

I have installed xposed and go to download the framework and it tells me that it cannot be installed.

What android version are you running, and what ROM are you using? Xposed framework is not fully working on newer roms

You need to change the rom you're using Aliyun OS is not compatible, you need an android based ROM, Aliyun OS is a modified android OS from China

I have a MLAIS M52. What other roms are there for this phone?

your phone is getting an OTA upgrade to Lollipop.
I recommend to just get the OTA upgrade to android 5.0, and wait for Xposed framework to be updated for LP devices

But won't the upgrade still be on aliyun os?

Yes it will, but unfortunately Devs havent been working on MLAIS M52, so I dont know of any Custom Android Roms, maybe somebody else does
