Help xt9 predictive text

when i was on 2.1 xt9 predictive text worked on the net and posting on forums but now on froyo i cant get it work but it will when i send a message so it got to be working... can any body see if it works for them on froyo on the net as i think it must be a bug
 
I think majority of users are using swype. But, I just tried mine. Did you double check under the Samsung Keyboard settings to enable xt9? Mine works just fine. perfect. no problems at all under 2.2 Froyo.
 
ah ha! finally after searching google for 2 days some one with the same problem,

my XT9 also does not work with the Internet since the 2.2 Froyo update :( websites like forums, facebook and even google

edit:

forgot to add, it works fine with texting but when on the internet and typing, in what used to be the word prediction bar above the keyboard it some times has buttons for "go" "next" "prev" etc instead of the predicted word, this is really bugging me cos i am crap at spelling and XT9/T9 is a major part of any phone for me do not like swype i think it's horrid and inaccurate but that is just my personal opinion. its the same with either keyboard qwerty or 4x3.

I'm trying to type now using the samsing keyboard. I don't seem to have and predictive text, xt9, ability either. Just the Prev. Next buttons. I'm guessing it wasn't like this before?
 
it seems it's the samsung keypad that is at fault because Smart Keyboard Pro works just fine, although i'm not sure if Smart Keyboard Pro is trust worthy so don't use it for passwords or credit card numbers.

no it used to give you predicted word options the same as when sending a text

Are the permissions for Smart Keyboard different than SwiftKey? Is it just Smart Keyboard that has access to passwords and credit card numbers? I have Smart Keyboard and love it, didn't know that...:eek:

im the same i like samsung keyboard better then swype..ive tryed swype but its a beta and cant be updated unless you root the phone

i have no idea, Droid warned me on installation that it could store and send anything i type and it used credit card numbers and passwords as its example, the software and the dev maybe totally trust worthy.
