Root XtraSense - texting number pad

I'm running XtraSense - and am wondering....when using the native text message app, is there a way to get the 'number' pad laid out different (like it was before I rooted and flashed)? I'm just talking about when you want to type in a number and bring up the 1,2,3 number pad. The numbers used to scroll across the top, but now they are laid out like a phone key pad. I tried to search for the answer but came up empty handed.

not sure what 'XtraSense' is, but if it's using the HTC_IME keyboard, you should be able to change the default for portrait mode in settings > keyboard > HTC_IME
