So is there any way to get support for them? Not sure why most companays dont include this playback, would be excellent and convinent.

Samsung has DIVX support on its latest Android devices, and the next HTC is rumored to have it as well.
There is an application on the market -yx flash -that claims to play divx files.
I didn't have a chance to try it yet. - Did anyone?

I tried yxflash, completely useless. Video is stuttering like hell.
