Hi,

Probably silly questions but please bear with me...:o

I have just rooted my s2 and want to put a good JB rom onto it but I have a couple of questions. I originally flashed the CF-Root kernel that matched my phone (LPT). I then flashed Siyah v5.0.1 but I am still on an official ICS rom (4.0.4).

I have read about the EMMC brick bug and downloaded the emmc check app from the google play - it says the bug is still there - I thought Siyah removed that bug?

Also, there are loads of different roms with XXMS1 / XWLSD, etc (I'm looking at Neat ROM). What do these letters mean? Do I need a particular version for my phone or do I just get the latest one?

Thanks,

Jim.

The check app shows that your chipset, hardware, is susceptible to emmc brick bug. Most custom kernels contain the, "anti bick bug", that will not trigger it. See the following threads for more information:-

Has your GS2 got the "Brick Bug"?

What is eMMC Brickbug?

They are the different builds of JB as explained in this thread:-

JB releases, LS8, LSD & LSJ, etc:

Do I need a particular version for my phone or do I just get the latest one?

That depends on whether you are thinking of flashing another stock ROM or a custom ROM such as, say, NEAT ROM. If you are flashing a stock ROM you will need to consider the language pack and your location as the firmware for, say, China may not be suitable for the UK. Most custom ROM's, such as the one mentioned previously, tend to be suitable for a wide area.
