Yahoo Contacts moved to Android cannot be edited

Hi I'm new to Android (Virgin LG Optimus V).

Yesterday I used the Yahoo Mail app to transfer my email and Contacts to my phone. It worked fine, but the over 300 contacts were not editable and most where only email addresses. Useless.

Tried to delete them one by one and it said they cannot be deleted but only hidden. Yikees so I called Virgin and we rest the phone to factory default to get rid of everything.

So now I am starting over fresh and want to know if there is any way to use my Yahoo email account without pulling in the the contacts?

or of a way to get the Yahoo contacts to be editable like the ones from gmail?

Welcome to the Android Forums!

That sounds like a quirk of the Yahoo mail app. I've literally migrated a hundred contacts to Android and have not had an issue. What you might try doing is to try going into Yahoo email on a PC/Mac and manually export the contacts to a CSV file or a zip archive of VCF files. You can then go over to Gmail and import them into your contact list.
