Help Yahoo Mail on Behold 2

Hi i am new to android and cannot get my free yahoo mail to work in my behold. I dont know much about pop3/imap. Can someone tell me step by step what to do?
 
1. Click Email Icon
2. Press Menu>>Accounts>>Add Account
3. Press other Email
4. Type your Yahoo Email Address and then type the Password
5. Click Manual Setup
6. Choose IMAP
7. Under Username, make sure it has yourusername@yahoo.com, it has to have the @yahoo.com or it will not work.
8.Under IMAP server type, imap.mail.yahoo.com
9. Press Next
10. Under SMTP server type, smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
11. Under Port change it to port 587
12. Make sure there is a Check mark on require sign-in.
14. Enjoy Yahoo Mail!
 
Yahoo does not offer pop/imap access on its free accounts. You have to access it via the web browser. Though they have updated the mobile web interface so its much better looking now.
 
Really? On a feature phone I had no problems setting up my yahoo account while receiving notifications.

You mean to tell me that a smartphone can't even perform this feature?
 
Mastermind i tried what you said but it now says invalid user or Password. I tried both with and without @yahoo.com still no luck. Btw i live in India if that makes a difference
 
Nope, never mind. . . . I so though it worked, and it might some times.


Just tried it, does nothing. . . . . . Great stuff. . . .
 
I was on the K9 code project page and noticed that a guy built a fix for the Yahoo over wifi issue. Not exactly sure how to implement it, but figured I'd let people know if it was causing them a headache.
 
The K9 version that was released today incorporates the Yahoo email via wifi issue. I just tested it and it works!

Here are my notes for getting yahoo imap set-up (I have a mail plus account):

username= name@yahoo.com
password = yourpassword
imap server= imap.mail.yahoo.com
port=143
security=none
optional = blank

If its a format the phone is unable to play(ie the stock media player or any other player downloaded from market) then it wont play. In the same way on a PC, the computer recognizes the file type and opens it with the associated program, its how it works on Android. If nothing is associated with the type of file attached, it wont do anything.

I have a Samsung Vibrant and can't access my yahoo mail. I did everything step by step. Says username or password incorrect. I don't know what else to do. Please help.

Not be mean, but there is a samsung vibrant section for specific help with your phone.
