Yahoo Mail on S5?

Have been trying to set up Yahoo! Mail on my new Samsung Galaxy S5. I have tried the automatic setup using the email app and clicking o nthe yahoo account, and it says checking incoming server settings, then authentication failed.

I have also tried setting it up manually as an IMAP account with the following settings:
imap.mail.yahoo.com or android.imap.mail.yahoo.com (based on some threads I came across on the net)
SSL
Port 993

and under POP3 as well, but no luck.

I understand that to get POP3 email to work, you have to pay $19.99/year to Yahoo, but I have read that IMAP should work.

Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using the default email app?

If you've updated your gmail app, you can now add POP3 and imap accounts there. Makes it easy and that's where I have my yahoo mail account setup.

The settings that work for me are

username: fullusername@yahoo.com
Password: ***************
incoming: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)

Outgoing: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
port: 465
Security: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Require authentication: YES
username & PWD same as above.

I am trying with the default. I may try the Gmail app. I can't even get the default app to authenticate to get to the outgoing settings... I've also tried the SSL accept all certificates setting and no luck there either.

I tried Yahoo's android app and IMO it stinks.

I am using Blue Mail and a whole lot happier.

I have the Premium version of Yahoo Mail and have had it for 20+ years. Why? because I have unlimited numbers of throw-a-way email addresses that I assign to each vendor/magazine/softsoap seller, what wants my email address so they can spam me.

I also have unlimited filters, folders, etc.....

but, all that aside, install Blue Mail and be done with it. Works just like a desktop application and fast.

The craziest thing is my wife has a Yahoo account and it synced just fine with the default email app on her S5 with the same settings I am trying to use. Any ideas?
