Yo yo struggling I'm and can't find safe way

So I wanted to check out snapshot CM (it is 11 if I remember right)
But I receive all the time Status 7 error and I did it with 3 CWM versions and I'm 100% sure that it is right ROM
I saw film about deleting first line of code which is checking out my phone version and is causing aborting of installation. But I'm not sure if it will not brick my phone by accident. So I got two questions:
- What should I do? Flash it with changed code or is there somewhere another safer way?
- If I brick SGS2 during this process, how to quickly unbrick it? And what level of brickness can this cause? :P I'm mean should I be afraid of messing with code and flashing it that way or no?

Sounds a bit of a Mickey take, but if you have to ask, then yes, it is too dangerous.

Deleting code from a flashable file to make it work is asking for trouble. I would read, read and read some more to make sure I know what I'm doing and whether it is indeed possible.

One last thing, you always run the risk of permanently bricking your phone messing with flashing and root. It is the nature of the beast. Deleting code from a file before flashing is up there with highly dangerous.

Iron I was using it for short time only because it was eating 1% per 6mins and main thing I need in my phone is long lasting battery so I will be back to 12.1 nightly when they deal with battery. And I saw latest snapshot on yt and wanted to check it out myself ;) But this errors happened so guys.... Do you got any ideas how to deal with it?
P.S. Thx Dyno I will read more about this stuff :)

I don't know about my partners-in-crime but I always recommend at least 3 -> 5 full battery and charge cycles after flashing a new ROM, before judging battery performance as the ROM and kernel need time to settle in.

Factory reset it, dont install any of your normal apps, leave it alone for half an hour (give time for media scan to settle) then note battery level. Then leave it alone for a further couple of hours and see if the battery is still dropping by 10% per hour. If it is, then there is something wrong with the ROM. If it is not, then one of your usual apps (or setup) caused it, so have a think about what ones to install into your fresh reset installation
