You can get local search results by sending emoji tweets to @Google

The Google Twitter account will now reply to tweets that use certain emoji when you include @Google in your tweet. The idea is to use a hamburger emoji in your @Google tweet, and they'll send you a link to a Google search result for 'burgers nearby'.
