Help You have lost data connectivity because...

So I keep getting this message, "You have lost data connectivity because" and I can't send/receive calls or texts. I got fed up with it so I tried factory resetting my phone because that generally fixes things, but that didn't work. I allowed data roaming, so I don't know what the problem is. Also, if I do end up fixing this, will all of my missed texts and calls come in or are they just lost? Anyone else know? Thanks.

-HTC One m8, Sprint.

1) Because...?
2)Are you well within your coverage area?
3)Have you dropped the phone (could possibly damage the antenna)
4)When it says youve lost connectivity does it show that your phone has bars? Is it roaming?
If you haven't dropped it I'd talk to your carrier and see what they can do. And if you do end up fixing this, your notifications should show up as normal.
Sorry, that's all I could come up with.

My first question- Where do you live. Sprint is doing a lot of tower upgrades and it is causing havoc with data connectivity as they push Spark LTE

I know I'm reviving an old thread here but I ran into a similar problem and I might have the solution.

I frequently travel to the North woods of Wisconsin and for years on Sprint I have been able to get data roaming. When I took my M8 up there for Memorial Day everything worked like normal, Labor Day I couldn't get any data only voice and text.

I put my phone in CDMA only mode and still no luck. Tried updating the profile and PRL, nothing. My wife showed up the next day and she had data (on her S5 also on Sprint). When I returned to a Sprint coverage area I still had no data on 3G, but I did on 4G, weird.

I did a Profile Update in the Sprint area on 4G, then switched to 3G and boom, 3G data was back. I can only assume the update that came out over the summer must have done something. For fun I switched my phone to CDMA mode today and again no 3G data on the Sprint network until I connected to WiFi or 4G and did the Profile Update (profile and PRL won't update over 3G).

TL;DR - If you know you are going to be roaming or out of 4G service, do a profile update while you still have some kind of data connection. Hopefully Sprint or HTC can fix this issue.

Sprint is still updating their towers period. He should check with his local Sprint store. One of the Sprint Techs showed me the plan for my area last year. When I saw tons of problems it was because Sprint was updating the tower in my area. I was complaining but all of the problems I was experiencing have ceased.
