Help Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies

Hi all I was wondering if I could get some help, I have installed Kies and tried to search for a update but I get the above error, I am in the UK and my phone is on the 3 network, when I first had the phone I updated to a custom ROM but then I changed back to what I thought was the default ROM which would allow me to use Kies but I get this error, can anyone help please as I want to sort this ASAP so I can update to the official ICS
 
Why don't you update the new ICS the same way you did the custom ROM? When it is released for the UK, you will be able to download the same version from SamMobile and install it via Odin.

because doing via Odin seems too much hassle every time an official update comes out, I would prefer to just update via Kies or over the air.

Is there an official ICS out that would work on my phone via Odin or so I have to wait for a 3UK release ?
 
Ok guys I have just read a tweet from ThreeUK saying that ICS is now available via Kies... Can someone help me sort this out so I can update my phone, many thanks.

There is newly released verion of ICS for 3 Network on sammobile.com. Search for GT-I9100 and look in the list, you will see the version for 3 Network.

Ok ta, I have started downloading it but its says

PDA = I9100XXLPQ
PHONE = I9100NELP2
CSC = I9100H3GLP2

but my phones says

PDA = I9100XXKI4
PHONE = I9100XXKI4
CSC = I900OXAKI4

Also how do I install this once its downloaded, and when I have installed it if I manage to will I in future be able to use Kies to update ?

Yes this will work on your phone. Your phone is a standard international S2 and this build of ICS will work for it. XXKI4 is 2.3.4 of gingerbread I believe and these new values are for ICS 4.03.

Ok cheers, is there a guide to using Odin to update official updates, also is Odin the only way to do it, cant I copy the update to my phone and do it on the phone ?

You can sometimes copy to your phone but this package has not been setup for that method. Outside of Kies, ODIN is the only way I know of. THe advantage of using ODIN is any updates will be released to ODIN usually months in advance of your TELCO releasing them through Kies.
 
hi all...i have a samsung galaxy SII JPKF3 software...i want to upgrade to ICS 4.0.3!! i want to upgrade using kies but it says that my device doesn't support software upgrading via kies :(

anyone know the solution to this problem??
I don't want to upgrade using odin..i wanna do it the official way..I understood that this version is korian or something..but i live in lebanon!!

I live in lebanon..not koria..

I understood from other sites that if i connect to kies, it should write that i have the latest firmware or something like that..why is it saying that i can't upgrade via kies???

same problem here also. even i didnt flash or root my s3. then also i am getting this error on my s3. after I checked friends s3 also same problem...what we want to do....? :(
 
When I bought my Galaxy S2 from the store it wasn't locked to any carrier and I haven't tinkered with it other than to download from Google Play Store. I'm having the same problem upgrading GB to ICS via Kies, I also have the latest Kies installed on my MAC.

In Kies, my phone was listed w/ CSC XTCKE5, but if i check on the phone itself, the CSC was listed as OLBKE5, is that what's causing the problem? the forum already lists both XTC (Philippines) & OLB (Open Asia) to have ICS upgrades available, What should i do?

Appreciate any help :confused:
