I agree that on some apps ads can be very intrusive but let's not forget that devs need some way to recoup costs for "free" applications. Server bandwidth isn't free.

i have to have Ad-away

I mean i do like supporting developers but MORE OFTEN THAN NOT the ads ARE extremely intrusive....

push and pull notifications for ads chew up battery life by turning on the radios for data exchange. also the notifications get REALLY annoying becuase its always at the worst times.

besides that, I use the USPS app to keep track of shipments and when things have been delivered or how long they are taking.

I use engadget mostly because the app itself is REALLY good. I don't normally read engadget for their content, i'd prefer Ars Technica but I don't want to load a browser and go to their mobile site, and they don't have any good apps. all the ones I've found are rubbish.

Colornote and Maps get a LOT of use by me.

and of course I use the basics, i thought i wouldnt list them beucase I think everybody uses these, but they are Gmail, G Voice, Opera, Youtube, etc.

I love the 3D camera and I use it for work pics. I take all my reference pics for work in 3D and if i need to, i just convert to 2D to send out to someone. in what I do the 3d effect just really helps figuring out how things come apart and how they should go back together later.

I find myself loving the FM radio, I only listen to the radio on rare occasions but its good to put on while at work rather than playing the same playlist over and over every day from the music stored on my phone.

I've discovered a new "must have" for me.

It's called Wi-fi Web Login.

It automates the login process for guest wifi hotspots. At work I put my phone on the guest wifi for faster speeds and power savings vs using the 3G connection. Once you connect to the access point you have to visit a web page and enter a username and password. I'm always having to reauthenticate when I lose the connection by going outside or even moving between floors. This program automates the process and does it in the background when it detects that you're connected to the access point and there is no internet access. I am loving it.
