Your opinion needed!

There's a writer for the T-Mobile website that made the switch from iOS to Android back in May. Here is his entries in order (cause you have to read them backwards on the website):

30 Day Android Challenge - Day 1
30 Day Android Challenge - Day 4
30 Day Android Challenge - Day 10
30 Day Android Challenge - Day 14
30 Day Android Challenge - Day 26
30 Day Android Challenge - Day 30

I like how he goes thru customization frustration. Because there is SOOO much you can do with an Android phone, it can take a while to suss out just how you want your phone to look and what apps you will rely on daily. But that's what this forum is for! To see what others are doing and take a little, leave a little when it comes to advice.

I get you on customization frustration. Part of the 'problem' (?) is widgets. I'm constantly moving icons & widgets, changing wallpapers, configuring my launcher & de/selecting apps to have on the home screens. When I think I got it right, nandroid back up.... only to start again :D . But then again, it keeps me interested, & goes in the spirit of rooting & custom roms, so, meh.

iOS on the other hand likes to keep it simple & that's cool for a lot of people, we can all see they're trying to keep the aesthetics. There is customization in iOS if you jailbreak but I haven't bothered in months, whereas android keeps me interested.

Apple would probably say (even after jaibreaking) that if you've got it right & feel no more need to mess with it then it is perfect. That's probably true but then I would start to get bored with it. But that could just be me.

Doubletwist was what made me root the phone. This is not an Android rant as it was probably TMO - in a rush with the 4G phone. It used to turn itself on even though I had never registered it. Other users had the same problem.

For music - I try to find a player which will play almost every format. I use MID for ringtones, and happen to like the format. My daughter skated and you could not have vocals for a competition. Wish it was around then.
