YouTube 720p only?

Can anyone else verify that 720p is the max supported option. I find this quite ridiculous, considering my roommates s5 will give 1080p and my Gfs g3 will give her a 1440p option. I've tried uninstalling updates clear cache reinstalling. Grrrr. I bought mine outright and have an unlimited data plan still, and a netgear 6200 ac router with a link of 567mpbs, and a speed test of 103mpbs from optimum online

Yes 720p is the max right now. Hopefully an update fixes this soon...

This seems to be the case with all Quad HD display phones for now. Hopefully YouTube realizes that those who have these phones want to see the Quad HD goodness.

That can't be true, I'm looking at my girlfriends G3 and any 4k content that is available on the web is available in 1440p on her phone, and that same content goes to 1080p on my roommates s5
