I have a Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016. It's on wireless only, but I have limited data through that connection. Is there any way to set a default quality for viewing videos on the youtube app? I'm so sick of having to jump in and reduce the quality all the time to reduce data usage. Please help.

There is however other thing you can do.. You can find app called Newpipe. It is a better option as for YouTube. Now I will send you some photos as it is not on a playstore but rest assured that it is safe to download. It also has built in screen gestures and subscription downloading from YouTube. Now this is not advertising. I Just personally happy that I found about this app and you have full control whether to give it a try or nope

Still if you consider to download this app then I can tell that it has default video quality selection. Just as long as a video itself supports it

Moreover you can configure and download videos with this app. Only limitation here is that you can't go to next videos with >> button. And this app also not always support videos download with sound. So be sure to check if downloading video
