Help Youtube sign in problems

Hello everyone.

I just purchased my new S3. I am having problems signing in under my current youtube profile which I have had for years.
Phone app will not allow me to log in under my profile. However, I can sign in using my gmail acoount, which I never ever had via youtube.
How can I sign using my old username/pass?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure of this, but I believe on an Android phone, the YouTube app is intergrated into Google. So on an Android phone, I believe you have to use your Gmail account to sign into the app.
