Root Z4Root seems to do nothing for my Droid 2

Okay, downloaded this in version 1.1, and it failed. Tried again with version 1.3.0 and again a fail.

Whether I tell it to temporary root or permanant root, it just thinks and thinks and thinks and does nothing. My Droid 2 doesn't freeze or stop running, so I eventually just back out of the app.

Found nothing about this in searching the forums.

Ideas as to what might be causing this?

System version 2.3.20.A955

ETA: sorry, wrong forum. Can a mod move to the ROOT forum?

Just had a meeting, and let it run for an hour. Pretty sure that's a fail.

I tried mine at first just as Temporary Root and it was taking a long time so I backed out and uninstalled.. I just reinstalled and I just did mine and it maybe took 5-10 minutes.. After that Install Titanium Backup.

I have uninstalled a few things but I'm not sure what is safe to uninstall. Does anyone have a list?

I rooted with z4root. I let it run for 10 minutes, rebooted myself, then I ran z4root again and it said i got superuser access. Pretty much in that order. I then got the "Adfree" app and now I'm as happy as a little gurl!!! Good luck!! :)

Finally. Rebooted a few times, and eventually it "took." Phone rooted, adfree installed.

Now, back to the forums to find out how to get rid of bloatware and choose apps to kill off.
