Help Zenfone 5 dead loud speaker

So during a 1 1/2 hour skype call my Zenfone 5 speaker died. Thinking it might be software I downgraded and upgraded but no resolution. Strangely sometimes it does make a millisecond long sound when trying to change the ringtone volume in the settings, sometimes you can hear very quiet key strokes when using the keypad but it's random and rare. Anyone experienced this issue? I had this phone for 4 months, this is very sad.
