Help Zenithink ZT-180 wifi mod

Have done the tx mod and its better but still getti g drops. Read a lot about this in the last few hours and the problem is the wifi driver. The unit with windows ce doesn't have wifi issues.
T least its not hardware and it might get solved in the next firmware update. As with the wifi sorted this is a cracking unit for the money.
I moved my router into my sitting room and it helps a bit.

On another forum a user indicated the purchased a wireless adapter thumb and took it apart and replaced his in unit wifi with the adapter wifi and solved his problems. Since I can not soilder worth a flip and certainly not those tiny connections I thought this wouldn't help me, but I ordered the wireless adapter from Amazon for around $20. I got it in Saturday and just plugged it into my pad and WHOPPIE my wifi connects anywhere now. No taking apart, no loading extra software, just plug it in and go.

The description is:GWF-3A32 USB2.0 Wireless LAN Card 802.11n 150M Pearl White,Chipset:Ralink RT

If you just search the GWF-3A32 you will probably pull it up. No guarentee that it will work for everyone, but I have been fighting that battle for almost a month now and this was quick and easy. :D Good luck I hope it works for others.

you dont have an issue with the external USB device sticking out the top?

I put a thumb drive in mine every now and then and am ALWAYS afreaid I;ll bump it and break a connection on the board

just asking

Just bought this off ebay, going to give it a try, the seller of my ZT-180 was saying to hook up an wifi extender or wifi repeater in my home because the wifi on this tablet is very low power to save battery life, well I just bought my router a month ago, so I'm not replacing it or buying extenders / repeaters when everything else I have connects and stays connected just fine, will try this little wifi nub you speak of and see if it works for mine, mine is the ZT-180 with the 1030 FW (susposedly the newest model) other then the wifi, I think its a pretty good Ipad knock off. Will report back once I try the wifi adapter. fingers crossed.
