Zenonia 4 question?

[Netherdragon]

I was looking at getting Zenonia 4 later as it looks like my kind of game.

Was wondering if I would need to play the 1st 3 though to get some of the background, story, character development etc?

I know they are sequels in some form to another but Im not sure if they are all that closely linked.

I skipped the first 3. The story wasn't deep anyways
