Zmax Pro Screen Glitch/Artifacts ?Help?

I got my Zmax Pro about 1 month ago. It is a great phone, but here about 3 or so days ago I was taking a picture an suddenly I noticed a flicker of strange colors on my screen. I freaked out and restarted my phone. Issue was still there so I contacted ZTE. I figured it was a software glitch not a hardware glitch because everything works completely fine. I hard reset my phone and no difference. I also cleared a cache that an Asian ZTE guy told me to do and nothing changed. Although the screen glitch nearly takes half the screen up. So it makes the phone annoying to use. I have the B14 update and have heard B15 and B16 updates are on there way. Take a look at this video and picture. I was planning on shipping my phone down to ZTE in Texas so they could repair the damn thing but that'd leave me a month without a phone. The screen mostly glitches when I touch the display or when a video or game is playing. It is present whatever I do basically everything. Does someone understand technology better than I do and can help? Btw mind my thumb in the video I chopped it off with a crossbow but it is fine. So should I wait for the next update or send it down to Texas for repair? I already got a confirmation to send it down when I like. (I NEVER DROPPED OR HAD MY PHONE DAMAGED IN ANY WAY/ NOR DID THE PHONE EVER OVERHEAT.)

I'm almost sure that's a hardware issue, maybe faulty wiring or something like that. Do you have insurance on it? Even if you don't you could probably still get a replacement under warranty, I'm sure that'd be quicker than sending it in

Do you think? No I haven't got the MetroPCs warranty I wouldn't of thought I would've needed it... Especially this soon!

I only briefly experienced the issue. It's believed to be software. Some people said the B14 update fixed it. Did you factory reset after updating?

If you send it for repair they will probably just reflash the firmware... who knows. Took about 2 weeks for my LG to come back.

If you send it in, take note of any changes they make and share it with us please.
Will do, and what exactly do you mean by firmware?

When I got the phone on Feb 3rd I already had the B14 update and I still have it. I suppose I will wait for the next update to see any changed.

I really do think that's a hardware issue, I've never seen that before. When I first saw your post I thought you were talking about the screen flickers that most of us had on B08. You have a warranty on your device provided by ZTE, I think it's good up to a year. I believe you'd go to Metro for an exchange but I've never had to get a replacement so I'm not sure

I could go to metro and see if they'll give me a replacement.

I think the issue has been resolved or dropped. I don't see anyone mentioning it anymore.

Could you give me an exact example of how I could recreate the issue on my device so I could test it?

Software.
I sometimes call it firmware because it's flashed to a solid-state device that is read-only (ROM). Either one works, I don't want to start a debate.... lol.

Your phone is damaged. That is like the worst damage I have seen. You can walk into the store you purchased it and get a replacement right away. I think, one poster here said he brick his phone when he rooted it and got replacement of the phone right there and there.

So you should be too. You have a LEGIT malfunction right there. It's unacceptable. If I were you I would storm at the store the minute I saw it and not create a thread here. LOL. That won't help you with your problem. Because your problem is you got a lemon.

I really appreciate this post, I went straight to the store and they will have a replacement in 3 day!! Thank you!

I meant what you were doing at the time you saw the artifacts. Like playing a certain game or a 1080p YouTube video. I wanted to see if I could recreate the issue on mine doing whatever you were doing when you saw that.

But I do agree, that seems more like a hardware problem with your device. If metro will give you a new one that's awesome. ZTE should also but your have to mail it to them first.

Good luck and let us know how the new one is!
Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what the cause was. Never had a problem until just about a month of use, I was taking pictures and suddenly started to flare up. Extremely weird and I don't know what would've caused it! I don't think you'd be able to replicate it.

Experiencing exact same problem so it shouldn't be hardware I wouldn't want this phone to get a recall I love this phone so far

Yeah I've got another ZTE Zmax Pro since then and I haven't encountered the problem again. I wish you luck and if you wish to discuss anything further you go right ahead. I am loving my replacement even more so than my last!
