i have a galaxy android phone and the weather and news app doesnt work any more. I was told by a Vodafone tec that I needed to send it back to be repaired as the GPS isn't working. Does this seem right?

Can you better explain the exact problems you are having with these apps, like have you tried reenabling GPS and google lattitude and such to automatically set your location.

Or perhaps reinstalling these apps,

Or even hard rebooting your device by removing the battery and restarting it.
