the web interface seems to push jpg but you can change that to mgeg
or a few other formats IRC it uses ffmpeg so you could change it to
anything you want. looking at the config settings ZoneMinder should
work over slow internet connections, but I'm not sure about any
specific protocols.
Motion JPEG is okay, but it is normally pushed over HTTP and any TCP based video feeds uses more bandwidth than UDP based protocols (RTP,RTSP etc), I am more interested in receiving full frame rate (25fps PAL or 30 NTSC).
I will hopefully take home a couple of IP cameras (Axis) and encoders tonight and test them
