Root zte awe sprint update

I keep getting an update for sprint on my vm ZTE awe. My phone is rooted and will not update. How important is this update? I would need fo factory reset recovery and os. Recovering stock to update just to root again is a pain.second question, if I don't update can I stop it form asking me to update it?
 
I also read all the information on the other post concerning the update. my wife's phone took the update, no real changes. Glad for the patch I didn't want to go back to unrooted stock.
 
Can you please explain to me what " Brittnearl build.prop fix " is and How to use it to stop this sprint update coming up on my phone ( ZTE N800 Awe ) ? Thanks.

First you need to be rooted and have clockwork mod or TWRP installed. Read through this if you haven't done this already. It should get you there without any issues. http://androidforums.com/awe-all-things-root/854617-my-awe-all-out-whack-help-plz.html Then you need to download this and place it on the root of you SD card. Dev-Host - ota_fix.zip - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service After that's squared away, turn your phone off and reboot into recovery by holding vol down+ power, after it vibrates, let go of the power button and continue holding vol down until you see recovery pop up. First things first, make a back up of your phone. Once finished, select install zip from SD card, navigate to the file on your sd card and flash it. I recommend grabbing TWRP for a recovery.
 
I just downloaded the zip extracted the build.prop and replaced the stock one. Make sure if doing it this way you set the permissions to rw-r-r i have stock recovery

Yeah, it kind of slipped my mind that you could do that. Definitely works. Just need root is all.

Thats the original factory stock update.zip software that was shipped with the phone. AWEsome Rom was built with this zip, modded to what it is now. The other roms by brittnearl were modded off the original AWEsome 1.0 (if that is indeed still the case). Its useful for restoring to bone stock, but will not flash if you have TWRP/CWM recoveries

My first rom was indeed built off of awesome rom... Both moonshine and lawe were built from system dumps of me and starkravings setups :)
