Help zte force google play store server error

I just got this phone and I can't install any apps because all I get is a server error in the google play store. I was thinking of rooting the phone to get it working. I tried a factory reset. It is setup for freedompop service so I can't use it until I can install some apps. I can't do it remotely either because you have to load at least one app on the phone before it will work. Does anyone have a fix for this?
 
I have the same issue. Go to settings, apps, play store. Uninstall update to revert it the stock version. It should work for a bit until it auto updates.
 
don't uninstall the current version. just force close and clear data every time right before you open Google play store
 
OK, I figured it out. It was running version 3.7.11 so I downloaded 5.3.5 version on my pc and emailed it to my phone. Reinstalled google play store and now all is well. Thanks everyone!
