ZTE Smart Touch

I am really hoping some one can't help us here.

My daughter got her first phone for christmas, I chose the Smart Touch as the kids older than her highly recommend it.

We are having abit of trouble with the Telstra internet and wifi. It seems when she has credit on her phone and goes to do facebook or download an app it auto chooses the telstra option and uses her credit. Even though she is connect to wifi at home?

Does any one know how to make the phone come up with an option for her to choose which connection she wants to use. My nokia always asks before connecting which connection I would like to use but for the life of me I cannot find this on her phone.

Her wifi is connect up all good as that is all she is using at the moment she doesn't have any credit on her phone.
Also the apps does anyone know if they use credit up when in idle? And if they do how do you control that so it just connects when you go use the app(when she is home on wifi)

Thanks so much for getting this far. Much appreciated!:D

If she's connected to Wifi, it should download them via WiFi, unless Telstra have done something sneaky?

I know there are certain network provider services I can only access when connected to 3G, there could be a similar sort of thing in operation here?

We have been into the telstra shop, their advice was set up a dummy internet connection, which they did! But then she can't do facebook free.
We have now rung telstra and they told me to go into the settings and untick the 2g option, which we did. Today so far she has lost $1.50 even though they said this option would stop it.

Her average cost was $3.50 and it was done during school hours and all during the night when I know she is asleep. Seems to be every 2 minutes that it is doing this. And when she is home and connected to wifi? We have also set the wifi never to sleep seeing if that will do something..NOPE. :(

I am really totally over this phone, have never liked telstra make phones they just not easy to get in and do things.
If any one could help us out would be great.
