Root ZTE Warp Sync - All Things Root Guide

Ok, ok, plz don't think I'm slandering GUMMY I'm SOOOOO not. Just wondering cuz I flashes it again n all is well at the moment. But does anybody else have an issue with the gummy file manager aftanagerSMer a few days? I tap the icon & it never opens. After a few days that is..... Device was booting RO has been my issue. Smanager pro from Ext SD Card, which is why I was having to use universal init.d apk to have init.d support on my Warp Sync. I like SManager, Just havent played with every setting enough to know my way around its control over system & init.d etc. nore how, other than hitting System RW from its settings under advance options. Reboot sets system right back to RO. Uninstalled the root super user, filemanager, emulator, ext SD "init.d driven" apk Until I read up some more on its settings. Any who ROMs are running great now.

Just wanted to check in and report that the SanDisk 128GB Micro SD works with our Sync's. It consumes 9GB in format, leaving 119GB for storage use. FYI..
 
Now that Ive stopped partitioning my SD Cards due to how hard it is on them. Sucks though Warranty Voider (Sweet @$$ knick name by the way) has some SWEEEET @$$ SD hacks for the LG F6. [ & If setup proper and with at least a class 10 SD card runs fine and beats Links2SD & Apps to SD's @$$ hard!] Which I think ! be universal now nt sure be sweet if there was. (UPDATE) warranty Voiders SD Hacks based off Proposal Theory is an init.d based as well as DATAonSD hack/hacks and I believe NN Zip built and modded around the LG Optimus F6 D500 ONLY!

Anybody heard of Root/Superuser "memory bind" app that transfers int to ext SD card? Just wondering but am sure it creates a lot more of an extensive read on an o'l SD but no partition required so just wondering if anybody knws/has ran/tried root folder bind? Not root folder mount which also needs no partitioning which is sweet but I have to do more research on "foldernount and binds that out int memory on/into ext SD cards see if its as hard on an SD's life span which partition or not seams like any extensive SD contenrmt reading would be harder on its lasting life you feel me all? Anybody who knows about root bind/foldermount [ROOT] fill me in on you're knowledge on its hard on SD life or not so much ordeal. I'd appreciate any input. Gotta ton of int memory I'm just a F@#$%&- flash, hack, tweak addict and wanna know if there's a way to expand INT memory by way of a safer/longevity type SD hack plz! (UPDATE) I have read up and am not willing to partition my SD's anymore. Burnnin em out WAAAAAY!!! to quicktoigh class SD Cards too. Nt to mention the Sync has plenty of int memory for what apks etc i use & then some. Partitioning and using say....... Apps to/Links2SD is rather uneccessary. [emoji Not that anybody but myself posted any interest in Partitioning and memory expansions etc. But myself here, lol. As far as the Warp Sync users interest in partitioning and memory expansion goes anyway. [emoji57]

[emoji49] Screw that 128GB micro SD. It only writes when in a device and becomes "read ONLY" in a PC of any kind.. [emoji28] Windows, Linux, don't matter. I even changed the card's R/W perms and only succeeded in making all directories invisible even after resetting the perms.. And no, you can't just transfer the files through Android as it gives some kind of path error. Dumb@$$!! Hard lesson learned well, Lol. Wasted $45 [emoji49]

Edit: BAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! [emoji23] Apparently.. If I set the SD card adapter to regular MicroSD switch. It writes JUST FINE!! [emoji12] - Via an embarrassing conversation with SanDisk.

No custom rom
No external SD don't ask its an ex thing.

Problem: Phone said we have an update for you just touch this button and I will do the rest.
It did a half butt job.
Now: Can only get it in to FTM unless I use Android Commander or ADB. Then I can also get to recovery. Just plain recovery. Can get files pushed or pulled to the phone but no execution. Weather it be from Android Commander of ADB or recovery to install anything I get this: E: missing bitmap installing.text code 1 E: missing bitmap erasing.txt E: " " no command.text " " error.text " " indeterminate 01, 02, 03 - 06 " " icon_installing_overlay 01 - 07 E: Unknown volume path /sdcard/sd.factory.flag " " /cache/recovery/log E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/log E: Cant open volume path cache/recovery/last.log E: Cant mount cache/recovery/last.log E: Cant open cache/recovery/last.install " " cache/foto/error_code " " cache/foto/source_code E: Cant load volume /misc/ Unknown volume path cache/recover/command Unknown Volume for cache path

I wiped dalvik cache, cache tried to flash Sync OEM. Found a variety, 148, system, data and framework files on dalvik placed them in their appropriate directory. Have tried flashing a recovery img. found many fixes for such a problem and tried them thru ADB but no. The fixes were not specifically for Warp Sync but I figured why not. The changes never took anyway. I just came across Android Commander yesterday and was able to do the file fixes and load zips to sdcard. When boot to recovery all I got was the errors above. I am limited in my knowledge, very limited, of the jargon and commands. Have been learning the school of hard knocks way for 3 days now.

Does anybody have any advice or direction for me.

I forgot to add that the ZTE is not call or sms functional. I only use it as game phone. It has great graphics and no lag when playing Kill Shot Bravo. Never disconnected from the game server in middle of game. Had at least 7 large games on it with no problems. That's without external sd card use. I wanted root to be able to take off sys apps that I had no use for sms, phone etc.. Free up memory and add more games.

Is it stock recovery or custom, as in TWRP? Of stock, I hear there is an OEM zip for the Sync you can look up and try. If you have TWRP then just flash a Rooted ROM. Otherwise, you're toast and need a replacement. One of the reasons we needed a custom recovery was to prevent mishaps like this. If you didn't install TWRP after Rooting then it is simply not fixable. Sorry [emoji28]

It sounds like TWRP tried to actually install a ZTE zip.. Usually doesn't go that far tho cuz it normally cancels out. I think ur bricked tho.. I done something similar on my 1st Sync and had to buy another, myself.
 
True story gentle this just happen to me. Since I upgraded and got the warp elite(excellent phone but no root yet) I gave my rooted sync to my son who went crazy about the phone, anyway he lost it and did not want any phone but the sync ! So I buy a brand new stock sync for him. Since I been away from this forum I forgot about the do not upgrade upgrade so every thing was OK before root. Download King root and use it but it only got to 97% and stop. Ok so now I have a half rooted new phone. In apks I saw that King root had install a superuser apk.I download xtheme install and when it came to permissions I click forever and the apk closed . Ohhh sh*t there my be hope get.I immediately download flashy and SuperSU. I got twrp image and flash it. Phone rebooted nicely...I flash a custom ROM and now everything is OK but one issue SuperSU only reboot to recovery ? So far that is the only problem. So you can root after downloading and installing THE UPDATE.

Anybody else check out the latest TWRP Img update 3.0.0.1? We need to add it to the TWRP recovery img downloads @ the beginning of this thread.
