ZTE ZMAX Pro

Just bought this new phone last week. Second day it started turning off completely by itself. Mostly when it is on the charger. Does it every few days still. Called Metropcs on thursday, they said to turn it off for 5 minutes and see what happens. I did this and it still turns off. What should I do. I did not put insurance on it.

You dont need insurance for a factory software/hardware defect. Tell them to replace it. They have never given me issues on replacements that fall under that category.

MetroPCS has a 30 day return policy for defective phones, which it sounds like you have. As @biledigger said you shouldn't have a problem. :)

"The first option is a free in-store exchange within 30 days of purchase. If the cell phone doesn't work properly when you receive it or stops functioning for any reason covered by the warranty, you may return it for a free warranty exchange within 30 days of purchase. Just bring your cell phone to a MetroPCS store or authorized dealer and if the problem is deemed to be in warranty, an exchange will be made. If the store doesn't have the same phone in stock, a replacement phone will be mailed by the manufacturer to the store for pick up, which can take up to three days."

Thank you I will be trying this soon. Hopefully they replace it for me!

Depends on where you bought it. If you bought from corporate store, they will honor 30 days return policy. If you bought from authorized dealer (=independent small business cell phone dealer), the term can be different and you may have hard time getting refund / return.
