I recently had a phone i stop using because i locked myself out of screen lock..i forgot my pin. I do not want to lose my data so i did not factory reset..can anyone help me?
Traditionally the answer was "enter your pin until you have failed too many times and it asks you to enter your Google password instead". But more recently it's become common for phones to reset when you fail too many times rather than ask for a password, and I don't know how your model will behave. Hence unless you know how that phone behaves this approach has a risk of doing precisely what you are trying to avoid.
Unfortunately I don't know any other. There would be things you could do if you had USB debugging enabled, or if you were rooted and have a custom recovery, but you can't enable debugging with the phone locked. The whole point of this is to keep your data secure from someone who gets hold of your phone, so if there were a way round this then Google would be forced to close it off as it would be a massive security hole.
We do have an FAQ on this, but I don't think it's going to give you any different answers.
