I just got notification on my phone that this update is ready to install. I am rooted and stock rom and recovery. Can i safely update and should i?

no...what update version are you on? ZV3, ZV4 or ZV5?

So from what I'm reading on your link... I follow the instructions, flash Zv5, then take the update, THEN I can root in the same manner that I did to begin with? I'm not trying to be redundant, I just want to be sure about the process as I cannot simply but a new phone if I mess it up

there is no root for ZV7....but yes you've got the gist of it

Was wondering. If i follow this procedure will it return it to factory and remove xposed framework also? Asking cause I'm thinking of selling this phone and getting the new Samsung that vm got.

Your attempting to mod the kernel and apply the systemless root?
I'm interested and may be of some use. I have a Linux system with ADB ready....

i was trying to find a different kind of loop hole (like i did with 5.1.1 but alas to no avail) system less root might be our only hope
