Help Zva zvb?

I just go the connect 4g and i am already playing with it, rooted, etc. I was wondering what is the ZVA, and ZVB, sounds like different firmware versions? How do i know which one my phone has, and which is the latest.
 
The latest one is ZVA. There isn't any ZVB. It went from ZV8 to ZV9 to ZVA. You can check which one you have undet settings>about phone>SW Version.
 
Thanks for the quick reply, im on ZV9, so i guess i'll flash the ZVA stock rom. Thanks! What are the advatnages or differences?
 
ZVA was supposed to help with the over heating issues. It also blocks tethering. Do you tether at all? You might want to hold off on that update if you do tether. You can use the LG Update tool to update your phone to ZVA
 
It will indeed disable the hotspot function native to the phone but there are ways around it that work.

I've actually been tethering the last two days as my dsl modem stopped working.

I believe ZVB is a firmware update for the esteem.

I'm trying to find a tethering app that'll work via USB. The only one that I've found requires a custom kernel...any good news for me?
