I am getting a preloader validation error although my bootloader is unlocked. Stock ROM Moto G pure Ellis. Stuck in bootloop. The phone has had an invalid image flashed to boot.

I am trying to flash another the stock ROM boot.img to boot_a. I am getting error "preloader validation failed." My bootloader is unlocked using Motorola's unlock key through their website. Any idea why it would give this error with unlocked bootloader?

Also have tried

sudo fastboot ANDROID_PRODUCT_OUT='./' flashall -w

flashing boot_a

and is stuck at flashing boot_a.
This is with the Moto Ellis stock ROM folder.

Does anyone know of an app that can be loaded on an old Galaxy S (SCH-I500) to allow me to undelete text messages and make them visible?

Have tried external programs with PC ( Dr. Fone,Android kit, and others), these programs work on undeleting messages on newer phones, but not on the SCH-I500. They all get to same point where they say they they must load something on phone through through USB port and this doesn't seem to work.

Any suggestions or way to do this?

Hi, I recently bought a used S3 Note on eBay. It’s been upgraded to 5.0. Everything seems to work on it but it can be a bit lay and not that many apps are still available for one this old.

I have a ATOTO model headunit in my car. I mostly listen to YouTube in the car. I have a voice remote that lets me interface with the headunit. I was wondering as to if there is a way to use voice commands and navigate YouTube. For eg. if I say 'Hey Google, Play YouTube Watch Later playlist' it will start my Watch Later Playlist'. It will be fine if there is an app that emulates screen touches on voice command also.

My Galaxy S7 sometimes loses connectivity with Verizon cell service - I can't send or receive calls. I have to restart the phone every day which fixes the problem but only for a few hours to a day. The screen shows LTE+ when it's talking to the towers and I see signal-strength bars. Sometimes these indicators are there but still my calls don't go through, then the bars disappear.

The network mode is on Global but I've tried the other settings as well (LTE/CDMA and LTE/GSM/UMTS), but that didn't change anything. The screen shows LTE+ when it's talking to the towers.

I've tried resetting the phone but that didn't fix anything - just caused me to lose my WiFi settings. I haven't tried a factory-reset yet.

I'm working with Credo Mobile techs but they think I need a new phone, which is a last resort since I don't want to spend money unnecessarily and go thru the trouble of reorganizing apps, settings, etc.

I have uninstalled the Saphe app from Google Playstore no problem, but then one day I saw in the top of a menu on a website. Wakely behind the websites menu; I could see Saphe's menu even though it was uninstalled.

I have contacted customer support and they wrote:

I'm sorry, but I can't give you any more options.
When you cleared the data for the app, it should have gone away and it shouldn't be on the phone anymore.
If the "Saphe" is still in the different browsers, it seems like your phone keeps holding on to it, and won't delete all the data, even though you're telling it to.

And they wont send me a list of the files installed from the Saphe app.

Oh BTW the app is behind all browsers: Edge, Firefox and Duckduckgo.

Malwarebytes and Avast don't detect any thing.

I've checked with local AT&T store where I bought my phone about 2 years ago. The guy there has not seen or heard of this before.
I get a spam text message (see attached screen clip) when I turn on my phone. Not always, not every day, but more often than not, sometimes 3-4 times a day. I cannot proceed without canceling the message. The message does not show in call logs or text message logs. Phone numbers on message listed change each time. ANNOYING AS HELL. I cannot figure out how to block it or stop it. I do not what to call either number in the message....it will just put me on an active number list and I'll get more messages. AT&T guy said to call the number and ask to be removed from call list. lol Like that will do any good. My number has been on NO-CALL list since I got it and I still get spam calls.

Note that the described tinting effect is IMO, and based on my eagle eye and 30+ years experience in the field neither caused by the color of the backlight LEDs (as one would immediately think from seeing the snapshots; I know backlight color variations ... this clearly isn’t one), nor as the colleague below presumed, the panel lamination glue.

Question to Android developers who are familiar with Display Color Profiles/CLUTs and output filters (if such exist):

Already owning an Alldocube kPad and iPlay 20s, which I'm highly satisfied with, I recently purchased 8 pcs. of Alldocube’s new iPlay 50 via AliExpress (excellent deal: each 2 pcs. for a total of USD 225 delivered). The hardware built quality is as with the previous models excellent, but the display on the iPlay 50 has a major problem:

When placing the iPlay 50 next to the excellent kPad and iPlay 20s one notices that

1. the colors are completely off and have a greenish tint
   
   
2. an artificial contrast enhancement/image sharpening effect is obviously applied, which adds an annoying and disturbing halo effect to detailed areas and edges where dark colors adjoins lighter color (e.g. black against medium grey).

Both effects are globally, so not limited to a specific app or screen area.

Unfortunately the effect is very difficult to capture in photos, attached below are my best efforts (the chinese comments are meant for Alldocube’s Customer Support, which isn't very supportive on this issue, although it would be in their best interest).

In my opinion it is not a hardware (LCD panel), but rather a software issue, thus should be easily fixable by their software engineers. Note that it is NOT POSSIBLE to correct these problems through Android’s Settings > Display > Contrast & Colors! The greenish tint remains, and so do the artifacts of the unwanted, unnecessary sharpening. Greenish tint also isn’t affected by Material You.

Any suggestions or ideas how to fix this? Because if I can’t fix it, I'll have to return those tablets, which would be real pity, as the tablet as such with its laminated 2.000*1.200px 10.4" IPS panel is an excellent bargain.

I am trying to figure where pictures are and why the LG phone puts them in different places. Some pictures are in folders in Gallery while others are in folders in DCIM->Camera. This "random" storing is true both for pictures that are saved to internal storage and pictures saved on the SD card.

And some folders I can't find anywhere e.g. Screenshots folder - on the camera it shows it as being in internal storage but when I connect the phone to my computer I can't find it.

Update: This just got even more confusing - I just found Screenshots folder in Pictures (internal storage). There isn't anything else in Pictures folder except the screenshots.

Hello there!! I´m working on a project with samsung S7 tablets that requires ipcameras connected via otg cable .What happens is when i connect the cameras via otg andoid automatically disables the mobile data from the tablet, but i need it to keep working, because i have to use the internet to run my app. It´s an app that runs in vehicles, so i don´t have wi-fi available,..Any suggestions on how i can connect the camera via otg cable and still use my 4g connection?? I'm trying to transfer files from my Android A52-5G to my Linux (Ubuntu 22.04) computer. I plug the phone into a USB port and the computer finds the phone no problem and correctly identifies it. As soon as I activate USB Tethering on the computer the phone immediately disappears from the device list. How do I transfer files from the phone to the computer?

My first post. Hoping someone can help me.
I am staying at a Marriott Fairfield Inn. When I click on the Fairfield wifi network I am supposed to be directed to the Fairfield login page to allow for the connection to be confirmed. Unfortunately I get a "DNS Failure" message. The front desk transferred me to a "help desk" which o think is a 3rd party computer help company. The tech tried everything she could but nothing worked. My Pixel 6 phone and my wife's iPhone X connected without issue.
I have turned off my VPN, cleared chrome cache, restarted multiple times to no avail.
This is very frustrating!
Any ideas would be appreciated!!
