Location of podcast files in Google Podcasts

I use the Google Podcast app on my Samsung Galaxy A4 Lite. Most of its 32GB storage is full and I think this might be partly because when I remove podcasts from the app, they might still be in my tablet somewhere. I notice that if I look at the storage for the app in Settings, it is the same figure before and after I delete a bunch of podcasts. Do I need to find them somewhere else in the tablet?

I am looking for an Android Studio Client/Server USB Sample/Example Code

I am looking for an Android Studio Client/Server USB Sample/Example code. I have gotten a basic Java Based Android Studio App built successfully running through Android Studio and debugged by representing it on a physical Samsung Android device through a USB port. What I would like to do now is the following:

  1. Build a small Java example code to run separately on Ubuntu that is not necessarily build on Android Studio but some other development platform that can communicate through USB to software build on the first program mentioned here.
  2. Build an APK based on the code from the first project mentioned here and deploy it to an Android device.
  3. Test the communication between these two programs.

windows regedit..

Basically I want my tabs, my windows when typing up my documents, and everything else to be
either seafoam green with blue title bars, or silver with black inside of them, so I am giant newbie at this and I did attempted it once and forgot how to head over to the windows regedit out of in windows 10.

So please give me a dumb down attempt to change everything to that okay?

Baffled

Hi, I'm new to the forum and not terribly technical minded. A problem with my Pixel 6a and Facebook has me baffled. When I go to post on Facebook and want to upload a photo from my phone, my phone tells me there are no photos on the phone but I can take one with the camera. There are lots of photo's in Gallery. I'm thinking it's a setting somewhere but I can't find it! This is the only phone in my long list of previous phones that has done this. Can anyone help?

Help Transfer files from dead tablet

I have a Digiland 10 inch tablet that died on me last week. The tablet is still running but has a cracked screen, so I can't use it.
My problem is this..I want to transfer some files from this tablet but when I connected a usb-c cable from the tablet to my computer, I got a message that there are no files to be found. I know there are some files still stored in the tablet (not very important but I want them anyway).
Is there a way I can connect to the tablet thru wifi so I can transfer the files? I can't seem to find the tablet on my network so I'm stuck.
Any help would be appreciated.

*I don't see Digiland listed as a brand but I would think this is an issue that can happen with any tablet.

Recent apps, home and back

My tablet is Samsung Tab S7 FE with Android 12 and One UI version 4.1.1. After last update the desktop changed.

Earlier the icons at the bottom: recent apps, home and back, were in the middle of screen. Now they are on the right side of the bottom line, which is very annoying: you very often accidiently touch those icons.

Any possibilities to move those icons back to center of bottom line?

Force back camera use in bank app

I am trying to use a bank app, which wants to scan my face but only uses the selfie camera with no option to use a picture from the gallery - but my selfie camera has too bad of a image quality even under perfect conditions. I have a rooted device with lineagos.

Is there any way to: 1. Change the android kernel so as to use the back camera? 2. Use a hack/app that would hijack the JavaAPI somehow? 3. Disallow permissions for the selfie camera to provoke the usage of the back one?

I have never really worked in the android java API so I really dont know what can be done without for example knowing if the selfie and back camera have a seperate API call

Android phone controls another android phone remotely

Hi all,

What will be the easy way to remote control an android phone from another android phone via WiFi or Bluetooth? In my case both are Samsung phones.

I'll mount an android phone (Samsung S6) as camera on one end of an extension rod for capturing. Another android phone (Samsung S9+) for control will be mounted on the handle of the extension rod.

AirMirror on Google Play? Or other solutions?

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Help Gallery app has its image dates wrong

Hi folks,

I'm pulling my hair out on this one, perhaps someone can shed some light.
Android 10, recent version of Gallery app (1.8.9.465239415).

I have an SD card on my phone; most of my images are stored on it. Recently, it became full so I bought a larger one. Pulled the SD card out, copied all contents to the new one.
I made absolutely sure that all FAT timestamps on all files are set to what they need to be, i.e. the time the file was actually created. This includes all of: creation, modification and access times.

Inserted the SD card back. Fired up Gallery. It started grouping all pictures into one big pile, marked "October". Checking "info" on some samples showed the date of the card change (yesterday)!
Googled a bit, found a recommendation to clear the storage of some apps. So I cleared cache and local storage of: Gallery, Media Storage and External Storage (latter two are system apps). Rebooted.

Now the phenomenon is as follows - I can't make any sense of it:
One one hand, the "Camera" folder (actually, /DCIM/Camera on the card) seems to be indexed just fine! "info" on all files shows the correct date.
HOWEVER, all other folders on the SD card still show all image files having a date of October - the date of the move.
I verified, probably 10 times, that all actual dates on the files (C/M/A and even EXIF) are correct. None of them shows the October date. And still, this is what Gallery shows.

I can't even think of a scenario as to where it gets that October date from. Must be something cached somewhere still. Drives me nuts.

Thanks for reading this far! I'd be grateful for any input or pointers.

Alert if two android devices are separated?

So, technology is a real issue in our house. Technology has led to a lot of issues with my kids where one of my kids ended up in the hospital twice due to stuff that started on social media. The kids now have pinwheel phones so they cannot get to any of that. But, my kids have broken into safes and find devices we forgot about and got around blocks.

I bought a synology router and I have it setup so any device connected without me putting it into a profile can't browse. But then my kids figured out how to use anonymous vpns and proxies which bypassed that. I now spent almost $600 on a Watchguard firewall where now I have vpns and proxies, for the most part blocked. But it's getting insaine.

So, I was storing all of our tablets and smart phones that we're not using in a safe. But. my kids figured out the code to the safe by using a blacklight to figure out which keys I push to get in... can you beleive that? Also one of my kids broke into my wife's gun safe to get a tablet. A few months ago, when things really hit the fan, I found every single electronic that wasn't used on a daily basis out to my garage, put it in the vice and then smashed the screen until it broke in half. I ruined a lot of devices. My idea is I do not want anything in the house that's electronic that isn't used on a daily basis.

Ok, brefore you get on me about parenting, my one daughter has been to the behavioral health hospital twice. She is on meds now. We talked to her doctor. Doctor says no social media for her at all. But my other daughter has been caught doing this too. I have the two kids in counseling once a week and I also hired a parent coach (which is $800 a month for her services.... insaine how much she charges), but we have a $200 meeting with her once a week to discuss parenting. Her idea is we need to take it back to the begining and fix all the issues.

But still, this takes time. My kids are required to use school chromebooks and PCs at home. (That is what I caught one of my kids using a vpn to get around my blocks.)

Ok, so all of you know all of my problems. I've spent many hundreds of dollars on Kindle books. I destroyed my tablet a few months ago when I destroyed everything. But, now I'm not reading any of my books. I just ordered a Kindle Paperwhite, but I used it for the last hour or so and I hate it. It works so slow. Also, it has an experimental web browser built in so if my kids use it, they can browse unfiltered. So, I just ordered a new tabet.

Right now, unless one of you have a better idea, I'm going to attach Tiles to my phone and my tablet and have a notification sent to me if one of them goes too far away from the other one. But, I'd rather not have a tile on each of them. I'd rather have the tablet and the phone to be paired maybe over bluetooth or nfc, and if they loose connectivity, send me an instant alert. So, then all of my electronics are near me at all times and I don't let my guard down.

Any ideas?

Samsung Galaxy S9 can't make/receive calls, possible VoLTE issue

As I mentioned in my other thread, my wife has an S9. I couldn't get MMS to work no matter what I tried. So finally I changed carriers from PagePlus (Verizon MVNO) to RedPocket (ATT MVNO).

Now MMS works, but voice calls don't:mad: VoLTE is required to make voice calls on ATT, so that setting must be enabled in Settings\Connections\Mobile Networks. The setting doesn't even appear. But I remembered seeing it before. After some testing, I discovered that the VoLTE setting is present and turned on when the PagePlus SIM is installed, but it disappears when the RedPocket SIM is installed.

Once again, the carrier's tech support advice is limited to reboot and reset:rolleyes: As if I haven't already tried that...

When trying to make a call, it starts the dialing process and then immediately says "call ended" as soon as u try to connect. When trying to call this phone, it immediately goes to voicemail.

Any advice?

Prevent Chrome from invoking Play Store

I have an old Android 5.1 tablet. When I start Chrome browser, on the top right hand corner, instead of the 3 dots, it will show a small icon which says new update available. In order to see my history, I have no choice but to tap on the icon which override the 3 dots. This invoked Play Store asking me to install the update which will fail because 5.1 is not supported. I then have to go back to Chrome and tab on the 3 dots to see the history. I have already turned off auto update. But no help. I understand that Chrome is doing the right thing telling me about the update. But it is quite annoying that I have to go through this every time. I was wondering if there is anyway to prevent Chrome from invoking Play Store when I clicked on the icon ? or prevent the update available icon to override the 3 dots ?
