Installed on my Android 8 car media device is Sygic auto nav version 17.4.12.Would some knowledgeable member advise me as to how I remove all history from travel book?
I did hold for a few seconds each entry and they turned red, plus a red section with dustbin appeared at top of page, I clicked on dustbin and all entries disappeared, only to return the next time I opened travel book. So how do I delete them permanently?
Equally whilst playing around with quick menu, I inadvertently turned off sounds, large icon now appears with X through it, I have toggled everything in sight (within reason) How do I turn Sounds ON in quick menu?
One final niggle, on my car device I have a dedicated Nav button, but since installing Sygic I can only open Sat Nav from icon on touch screen, and NOT from Nav button....anything I can do to overcome this?

I have the same problem! And it starting with Airplane-mode on.. Only bootloader working with the buttons. and when i connect it to the PC, the phone is only charging. How to fix ? And how to disable airplanemode ?

- So my generic question is this to whomever still uses FB, how can I view them when I think they are grayed out, the last time I checked it would not let me view my hidden tagged photos, and who in general would do such a thing when I had to take a mental vacation off from it on accident?

I want to connect my external DVD drive but I couldn't find Additional settings which contains OTG Connection. I have downloaded the application named OTG checker in CHplay for my tablet (Alldocube iPlay 20s) and my tablet is compatible with otg connection. I tried to use an OTG cable but it's not working. Anyway, a couple things I've started to notice which are really annoying

1) If i try and double tap a full stop (period for the Americans I believe) after a number then it deletes the last number.
Example...

I've just tried sending a text where I ended one sentence 2021. I'd double tap to put the full stop but instead of doing that (like it used to) it removed the 1 so then it just said 202 & then it'd put the full stop after the 2. I'd keep doing it keep doing it keep doing it .... and it kept happening.
Another was I was talking about money and went to type 220k & then double tap a full stop. It removes the k and puts the full stop in so it reads 220.

Has been happening since the update. VERY annoying.

2) Another that's happened just now is the annoying auto correction of correct words. Earlier today it autocorrected "you" to "yuu". I mean, come on! I wouldn't mind but then there's some words that SOME times, not all times but SOME times it doesn't autocorrect - example, "theyre". Mostly it will autocorrect to they're but some times it wont ... yet it decides to autocorrect "you" as "yuu".......!?!?

Keyboard I use is Swiftkey. Never had a problem before, until now.


Update - another issue that I've noticed since this update is before, when I used a comma for example, I'd have to hit space & then type the next word. I don't mind this.
Now though, when I put a comma in, it automatically puts a space in as well as, so then I end up double spacing through the habit of hitting space after a comma.

Not rooted, runs Android 11. When connected to PC (tested on ubuntu 20.014 and windows 10) set in preferences to "file transfer." "USB controlled by" setting remains on "this device," fails if attempt to switch to "connected device."

Connected device succeeds at mounting phone, and can freely navigate the filesystem remotely. However, nearly any attempt copy a file of significant size (i.e. > 1MB) from the filesystem to the connected device freezes at about 2% completion, then ends in an error. In linux this is "libmtp error: Could not get file from device." The same occurs if the device is unmounted and an adb pull is called in terminal: hangs nearly immediately and eventually fails. This doesn't happen the other direction: files from the connected device transfer successful (and quickly) to the phone filesystem.

After the error occurs in mtp, the phone filesystem is no longer browsable from the connected device, and attempting to unmount it results in "device busy" and it takes a few minutes to unmount. When remounted it is browsable again, but file copy attempts have the same result.

This occurs on different machines, and different phones transfer files correctly with those machines. This phone is new but was working properly yesterday. There is no visible damage to the phone or usb-c cable, both of which are new or nearly new. So the problem narrows down to software on the phone conflicting with the transfer.

What could that be? Which apps could do this, or result in it if disabled/depermissioned?

I’ve put Bluestacks 5 on my Surface Pro to run it. It’s on a micro sd card as an extra drive. When I run Capcut albums I can’t work out how to make the location of my videos and photos as default location.

I managed to pair an Andriod Device to Android Studio via WIFI using a QR code. But then I got a "Default Activity Now Found" error when I tried to run my program to the device, I went through the steps to fix that error. And that led me to not only cleaning and rebuilding the project but when I restarted Visual Studio, I thought I would remove and re-add the listing in Device Manager.

And this is where the problem is. Since I removed the device listing in Device Manger, I have not been able to get it back. I have been trying both the QR code as well as the pairing code. The Android cell lists the computer. But each method I have tried to get Android Studio to recognize the cell, it fails. It says it may take up to 2 minutes to complete but it will say that there is an error pairing the device. It does not matter if I I the computer name from the list of paired devices on the android or not.

I can put tel: link on any spreadsheet that will put a number in my Android detailer when clicked. I need to be more efficient though.

What kind of link can I use to actually begin the call?

I also need a way to click one link and an outbound call BEGINS on speaker

have a rooted Google Pixel 3XL running Android V10, have the Settings option 'Automatic System Updates' unchecked, and in Google Play, 'Auto update apps' is set to 'Don't auto update apps'.

However, over the past week or so, Phone by Google has auto-updated itself three times! Each time this happens, I uninstall updates and re-install V65.0.370544174. I keep this old version because my default phone app is True Phone, the newer versions of Phone by Google require that it be the default app to operate, but I need Phone by Google to listen to voicemails.

So two questions:

• Can you please suggest what I should try to get Phone by Google to stop updating itself?
• If there is no such setting, can you suggest an app for listening to voicemails?

This is probably not phone-specific, but I guess it could be. I switched carriers from T-mobile to Mint Mobile but retained my same phone number. All is good, EXCEPT I can no longer get text messages from Amazon.com. Other companies and private parties text me, including the type of two-factor authentication I was using with Amazon, no problem. But zip from Amazon. I have spent a total of about 10 hours with Amazon and much less with Mint. They point fingers at each other, but bottom line, I can no longer get text messages just from Amazon. Anyone else heard of this? Thanks

Not sure why, but my v20 has been real fussy lately. I'd been holding out in hopes of a phone maker to finally have a successor to this worth looking at, but it seems we'll sooner see a vaccine for HIV than that ever happening.

Up to this point, been happiest with unlocked phones. Unfortunately, I just can't bring myself to spend any money on a sealed battery phone. Since, for as long as I've been alive, every single one of them has been absolutely terrible for me.

Simply... I need root. Full stop. And I'm sick of XDA making it hard to find out if it's possible or not. Just as I'm sick of them having a monopoly on who's allowed to root their phones or not. Stop right there; yes, they do. Because every other site that claims to enable root always comes with some kind of malware.

I use a headphone Jack daily. Both in my car off the clock, and in my vehicle when I've got some down time at work.

With root, I like twrp to make an image backup of the phone. So for that, I want an SD card slot.

Lastly, the biggest problem, and always the problem from the start, is the battery. The last time I tried to settle with a sealed battery phone, I was recommended the moto x pure. And suffice to say, I spent way more than the phone was worth replacing chargers, charging cables, and then having to sell it for pennies on the dollar when it refused to quick charge and no shop around here would even touch it to fix it.

I was hoping someone out there would have basically made "a v20 but with a 5g radio" or that I could have got a fair phone 4 for example. But seeing as the us phone public is predominately full of office morons that refuse to leave WiFi range, much less the operating range of an outlet, now I have to suffer for their buying decisions.

I'm curious about how the watch tracks steps. Do I need to be swinging my arms as I walk to trigger the counter? If I hold my arms still and walk, should my steps be counted? I ask because I have about a third of an acre to mow. I use a push mower and was about 3/4 finished and I looked at my watch and it tracked about 200 steps. I know it took more than 200 steps to mow that much lawn! Is it because my hands/arms didn't move? Should I have manually started the walking feature to record those types of steps???

Two questions about Android 12 on Pixel 6a
1) What is the area at the top of the screen called? Not the very top that has little icons, but below that. See attached screenshot, the area circled in red.

2) How can I get rid of it? It takes up too much room. I want to put app icons there.

How can I find a list of all apps I've ever installed on all devices I've ever had? - I used to be able to swipe from the left hand edge of the screen when i play store and it would show a list of all apps I've ever had, with the option to install on the current device. That's gone now, so how can I find all apps I've ever had now?

Anyone know any manufacturers who don't have this spectacularly f-ed up policy that Samsung has had for a couple years, which is that all Samsungs purchased in Germany are deactivited for use outside the EU, and the only way to get them activated is to email Samsung your IMEI, receipt of purchase, and dates of travel, and then after three weeks they'll get back to you and let you know *if* they've decided (which isn't assured) to send you a code to unlock it for out-of-EU use - and only for the dates you requested?

This info all comes from a chat with Samsung Germany support and the email they sent me with instructions for the procedure. No idea if it applies elsewhere in EU.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to remedy this?

I've read that I might have to root the phone but I am a complete noob at Android and don't want to brick it!
