Is there a way to disable or remove the Gallery App on the Samsung Galaxy S22+. I want to use Google Photos instead as the default.

I could use some brainstorming from the clever folks here. I have an issue with my bedroom door and it's not the end of the world or anything, but I'd be happy to find a solution. Here's the story....

We have to keep my bedroom door open about 6" so my cats can go in and out. The door is only shut all the way when we need to keep pets safe when outside doors are being left open, like when the floors were being refinished. Otherwise, it's partially open. Our dog is much bigger than 6" across, and she has to come and go, too. The way I have it now is a makeshift do-it-yourself method: a 10-pound dumbbell inside a rolled-up bath towel (so it won't scratch the floor when it gets moved). This contraption is on the INSIDE of my room; IOW, there's a 6" space (or larger, after the dog goes in/out) that's open, with nothing between the door and its frame.

When the dog comes in/out, the contraption moves a few inches to accommodate her girth. I can't leave my door OPEN because I'm perpetually hot, and have a window AC unit plus an upright floor fan plus an upright desk fan...and if the door's open, the room doesn't stay cool enough (for me--everyone else claims it's freezing in here! ).

We've also tried the opposite arrangement, i.e., the object blocking the door on the OUTSIDE of my door, between it and its frame, but quickly discarded that as it left the door wide open every time the dog came in/out.

What I'm hoping for is an ATTRACTIVE but functional permanent solution. You know how screen doors automatically close by themselves? Or doors in commercial buildings with those....pneumatic THINGS at the top, that slowly close them automatically. Something like that but pretty. And that would stop automatically at about 6" open. But could allow the door to be SHUT shut when needed. My super-clever handyman is not available right now; I *know* he could rig something like this and make it pretty, too, but he's not an option.

I've omitted WHY the current arrangement isn't good enough: every time a HUMAN comes inside my room, and then leaves, the door is wide open! They have no way from the outside to pull the contraption toward them to [partially] close the door. Yes, I thought about tying string around it and placing that under the door, but between the cats, dog, and people, that's just NOT going to work!

Any and all ideas are gratefully welcomed. Sketches, too, if you'd like to show me visually.

I want to log out of a secondary Google account each time I close my phone. Is there any method of logging out of an account on close?

T-Mobile's 5G network is phenomenal at my location. The middle bandwidth 5G connection in my area is giving about 800 Mbps of download speed. In my short time on T-Mobile, what is annoying me highly is their technical support. What I am noticing is that:

1) They do not train their level 1 reps, who actually know NOTHING about the details of Android or T-Mobile app.

2) They waste my time extensively, as the untrained rep puts me on hold to talk to level 2. They rarely understand a problem when they come back from that consult.

3) The very worst part is that at the end of every unsuccessful call, the rep tries to "persuade" you to agree with his statement that "I provided you excellent customer service, wouldn't you agree?" Why are they doing this? It's clear that T-Mobile support's management fails to train their employees, and instead, they rely on slick psychological manipulation to improve their ratings. After giving you lousy service, they then bludgeon you with requests for feedback.

I do not want to criticize the rep, because T-Mobile will fire that individual as complaints accumulate. The problem is not the rep. The problem is T-Mobile's support itself, and its failure to train employees, and its failure to give customers an easy way to transition over to level 2 support.

I have a new Google Pixel 6. I love the new version of Android. The transcription of voice mails works with about 85% accuracy and is useful. The problem I am having is that the transcription happens twice. First, in the "Voicemail" tab of the Phone app, I can select voicemails and see a transcription. Nice! But Android is also duplicating that transcription and sending this to me as a text message. Why is that happening? How do I turn off the text? I want to get Android notifications about the voice mail and read the transcription right in the Phone app. What is the point of also getting the same transcription as a text message?

My wife has an iPhone Xr - any time I receive an MMS message from her and it's a new group on my phone, it comes with a 6 prepended to her phone number. If I respond to the group - she does not get the message.
Her SMS messages to me directly have always been fine - this is just her MMS messages.
If I started the group - everything works fine. Has anyone else ran into this? I do not have this problem with any other incoming messages - just hers.

Hi . My LG L70 D325 is working fine on it's official factory rom(KitKat) and it's on. but i have DBI Fatal Err problem so no download mode and i can't flash factory rom .
but when i connect it to any computer with windows 7 or windows 10 in MTP mode or other modes nothing appears in device manager or windows explorer .it just charge the phone. even when i turn of device and press volume up and connect it to computer i see fatal err but no drive show in explorer to fix it.. i have installed LG Mobile Drivers and LG PC Suite.
i enabled developer option but still not working.
i used to connect it to computer and it worked but recently it's not .
i tried many different usb cables . cables that work for other phones but not on my phone.
i tried it on two different laptops. on windows 7 and 10 and ubuntu.

I would like to make my cup mount Bluetooth charge. Is there something I can plug into an adapter and lay it on top of the mount between the phone?

I am trying to make an app which utilizes web components in a webview (but not the built in android webview). What we'd like to accomplish, is that when you hit a button you open a full screen activity, but if you go back, that activity doesn't go away completely but stays in a smaller section on the screen, without losing progress, so that you can click on it and open it up again back and forth seamlessly. A common example of this behavior is something like browsing youtube while viewing a video. The player minimizes to right above the bottom bar, allowing you to browse the app while keeping the video playing with the controls in view (note, this is not the same thing as picture in picture, which is what happens if you exit the app completely while viewing a video).

Would fragments allow this behavior? Or is there something more idiomatic I should look into to achieve this dynamic layout?

Hello. On a Revvl phone by T-mobile, I have tried to change the sound for inbound text messages, as well as the sound for messages in Gmail. For both, I have gone to the settings of the app, changed to a different sound, ("Calm" vs. "On the Hunt"). After pressing save changes, and restarting the phone, the same, default, original sound is still being heard when a text message or email is received. I went back to the apps' settings, but in both, the correct sound setting appears, ("Calm"). I do not know what else to do at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this?

Hi everyone
I've been working on this sculpture for some years now and have run into a problem. Because of the nature of the sculpture, and the typical length of an art exhibition, I need the Tab-E (SM-T560NU) to run video constantly for weeks at time (typical show is 3-4 weeks), but it only runs for a few days before going to sleep.
I've enabled developer settings, and turned on the stay awake feature, turned off all the apps I'm allowed, and keep the unit in airplane mode. I've also replaced the battery with a battery "blank", using the voltage regulator from the old battery, so there is no chemical warming. The Tab-E runs fairly cool, compared to another Tab-E I have that's not mounted on the sculpture. The unit loops about 60 videos, and I tested it before fitting it to the sculpture, and let it run for a couple of weeks.
I'm using MX Player Pro for the player, as I like the zoom features for the faces (see below video). I suppose it could be a software issue, rather than hardware, but my gut says no. But, if there's a better player, I'm open to the idea. Here's the sculpture, iRobot: If you prick us, do we not bleed?

So you'll probably be thinking I'm going to ask how do I display when someone was last seen.
Nope.

Ok so I was an iPhone user 2010-2020, made the switch to a Galaxy S10, everything going great.
A few days ago I got a Galaxy S20 on a good deal so I started to make the switch.

My wife also made the switch from a Galaxy A71 to a Galaxy S20 at the same time, though she set her phone up sooner than me as I'm a procrastinator (my wife's inclusion in this will become clear in a sec...).

So we both used Samsung Smart Switch to make the switchover from our original Galaxy devices. Hers has gone absolutely perfectly. I have an issue with WhatsApp (we are running the same app version 2.22.14.74).

The really annoying thing is that now, when I open a chat, the 'last seen..........' scrolls to the left instead of just staying there as 1 readable entry.
It's now 10am here, so once it stops scrolling, if they were last seen 30mins ago, it'll end up just saying 9:30am as what is visible on the screen.
However if they were last visible the day previous, it may say something like 10:30pm & on quick look you're thinking hang on, it's 10am, why's this saying 10:30am? Ohhh ... it's saying PM.

Annoying!

So I'll open a chat I have with someone & it'll start out like this (all normal, kind of (it's cutting the pm off))...



But then it starts to scroll automatically left....

For the record - this isn't how it was on my Galaxy S10.

My wife doesn't have this experience. It's exactly how mine USED to be & how hers was on her A71. So why mine is now suddenly doing this, I do not know.

I backed up WhatsApp, deleted the app & then re-installed again & restored from the backup but this hasn't fixed it.

Any idea what's going on & how to get it to revert back to normal?

Is this a known problem? I have everything checked unchecked. If i don't touch my phone for 1-2 hours i don't receive any notifications from Facebook until i go into my phone then they pop up, if someone sends me a message through messenger i do receive it, I'm guessing because it's a separate app.

Hi there, am looking for the last released UPDATE official stock rom(zip file) for Samsung GT-S7392 preferably above android version 4.1.2

I thought I'd share a recent experience with the RING app that was resolved with RING tech support.

The audible notification tones included with the RING app just disappeared on my Samsung Note 9.

When you download and install the RING app the audible notification tones get stored internally on your phone. RING acknowledged they have has a couple previous issues of the tones disappearing but they don't know the root cause.

To resolve
Settings => Apps => RING => Clear data
Unintall RING
Reboot phone
Reinstall RING
Open RING and log in

On my device the notifications are stored Internal Storage => Notifications

All tones are preceded by the word RING

Sometime during the final week of June 2022 I stopped receiving Facebook push notifications on BOTH my android devices, being
Samsung Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6

I know the first questions will be, have you checked Facebook acount settings, device notifications settings, blah, blah, blah.

Valid question if we are discussing only one device - but FB notifications just stopped working on TWO devices. I have made no alterations to either device. Both devices are running Malwarebytes Antivirus

On my Note 9, I cleared FB data, uninstalled the app, rebooted the phone, reinstalled the app. This did nothing to resolve the issue.

I've read others have had similar issues with the last couple of months - and complaints that the FB app is a little (ok maybe a lot) buggy.

My first guess is that this is a FB problem, but I'm surprised at the lack of new issues regarding this within the last two weeks.

Any thoughts?

I'm using OnePlus 9RT 5G running Oxygen OS 11.3 and Android 11.

Today I tried to sync contacts from my gmail but I am unable to sync contacts from my gmail account. Here's what I tried to troubleshoot but it didn't resolve the issue.

1. Clearing data of contacts app.
2. Restarting my phone.
3. Removing all other gmail accounts in my phone and adding them back.
4. Going to Settings> User and Accounts > Google> choosing the said google accounts>clicking on sync now. Also unticking contacts and reticking contacts to force sync them.
