Hi, what browser do you use.
Share your thoughts, advantages and disadvantages.

I said goodbye to chrome after trying Brave last year. At that time I had iOS. But when I switched to Android.. I was shocked at the amount of ads Android version of Chrome is displaying comparing to iOS version. But luckily Brave is also available for Android and with much more advanced shield options. Sure, Brave isn't perfect but it is my default browser.( I believe ad blocking on Android Brave is based on ublock filters but it can't be modified, customized or be updated. No add-ons sadly.

I did try Samsung browser but it didn't impress me even with ads blocking and add-ons.

Tried Vivaldi don't remember anything bad or good about it. So so ad blocking.

Opera looks and feels busy and not that good at blocking ads.

Firefox is probably becoming my go to browser. I like that devs are updating it pretty often and the best feature is of course add-ons.. Ublock is just too good not to be used. And recently I added Dark Reader which is just an amazing add-ons.. The only thing I don't like about Firefox is UI and overall feel. But I think I just got used to Chromium and that's why FF feels a bit odd.

Let me know what do you prefer.

I am pretty much new to coding. I am trying to build an android keyboard that will search for specific words and appropriately show a message information. I've managed to successfully build the AOSP keyboard but unsure how I am supposed to get my keyboard to search for typed keywords. Any hints?

So, the last phone I was able to root and rom was the Galaxy Nexus that many folks from here bought for me, because of the Gnex thread.

I loved the fun of trying lousy ROMs which messed up all my data, only to be able to wipe and restore a completely stable one. Such fun. Such power.

So, here's my question. Is rooting and Rom'ing pretty much dead nowadays due to security software, banking apps and financial on the androids? It's been awhile since I did so myself.

After recent update you can remove Smart Things off the phone for those of you who's got no use for it.

I have a S21 and there are a couple of sites which location can't be accessed. I have pictures but don't see how to include pictures.

www.harristeeter.com wants to access location (shopping app) and I click on allow then I get a pop up which says "This site can't ask for your permission"

I have other sites the same and am using Chrome and it has permission for location.

Any suggestions?

I am trying to help a friend with a LenovoTB-X104F tablet. running Android 8.1.0. She has both Astro and Dropbox installed. The Dropbox app is working perfectly and Astro works perfectly when accessing locally stored files. However, when her Dropbox is added to Astro and any attempt to access the Dropbox files through Astro is made, it always returns the error message "Astro has encountered an unexpected problem..." Has anyone out there encountered this behaviour and, if so, how did you fix it or work round it?

Issue with alarmManager and work manager
Reminders are missing randomanly and mutiple reminders are comming for particular session, we have used alarm manager and workmanager for populating the reminder.
Description:
we are developing a healthcare app where we need to populate the alarm notification at a specific time like in the morning, afternoon, evening, night.
case 1 : Missed Reminders when the app is in deep sleep mode or in the idle state we are not getting reminder on all version of andorid till android version R.
case 2 : Mulitple reminders are coming when the device is actice during that time we are facing multiple reminders.
For alarms we are using.
1. Room Database for storing the alarm time.
2. Alarm manager's setExactAndAllowWhileIdle() method we are using for setting the alarm.
3. Broadcast reciever for getting the pending intent and showing the alarm notification.
4. Workmanager we are using to set alarms in the background.
if anyone can help us out how can we populate alarm notification at particular time, doesn't matter if mobile is in deep state or idle.
we have gone through with mutilple solution for it but it seems to us nothing is working properly.

I have a first unit of a car, using the operating system of android, (android 9), I want to install a third application (youtube, google maps). The right hand slot, (I have no idea what we are supposed to use those slots for), is where my little finger naturally rests when holding the Pixel 6 Pro. Even in its case, it sends out an electrical shock each time a new message arrives or other activities occur with the phone.
Pretty sure it is not static electricity and I don't think it would kill anybody but it sure is annoying.
Anybody else notice such? Is it normal?
(And what are those three slots for anyway? Is there a plug you can insert to cover them?)

The BaseServiceTest class is on the module `common-testutils` and that module it's added in another module called `products` using:

`testImplementation(project(":common-testutils"))`

The module `products` has the class `CoreServiceTest` which extends the `BaseServiceTest` class. The class `BaseServiceTest` it imported into the class `CoreServiceTest` but when try run the I received `Unresolved reference: BaseServiceTest`. It's strange because the class it's imported but can't run it.

My USB says it keeps connecting and then disconnects right away. It does this over and over. Its draining my battery! Can anyone fix this?
