Why does my eBay app notification only sound when I open it?
It's pointless as it used to sound perfectly on all my other phones. Do you use the eBay app and du you get notifications even when the so is closed?

Bought a brand new CAT S60 (third one), I do the intial setup then once i get to the home screen it goes through the tutorial to show you how to use all the buttons. At the end of the tutorial it shows repeat and dismiss (see picture). These buttons are unresponsive and this screen cannot be cleared. I have hard reset and soft reset the phone, tried leaving it for hours and letting the battery die. When booted back up it will play the tutorial again and get stuck on the same screen. There is a short period of about 10 seconds where I have access to all the menus before the tutorial takes over the screen. Have not found anyone else with this same issue, PLEASE HELP! I do not want to return this only to buy another and have the same issue.

Wondering if any developers here can confirm the following:

On virtually all Phone / Call apps, you'll see the Caller ID Name for incoming calls (where the name isn't blocked, or the number isn't in your Contact list). I get semi-frequent scam/sales calls and they are all from numbers that no person or company name comes up, only the phone number. Since the Caller ID name is displayed when there is one, I would assume the Android Call apps have access to this data value.

Yet, all call blocking features I've seen in all apps I've tried, only have the ability to manually block the number, or, enable a setting to block all calls from numbers not in your Contact list. I'm just flabbergasted that none of these apps also have the option to "Block all calls with no Caller ID Name that are not in your contact list." If the Caller ID Name value comes across as the phone number itself, the app can easily see that it matches or that there are no letters in the Caller ID Name and block it. The only reason I can think of that this type of blocking feature isn't available in a single call app is that for some reason the Caller ID Name is displayed by the system, not the app, and the app doesn't have the ability to read the Caller ID Name Value? I would be really surprised if that were the case as it doesn't make sense that the app displays it but can't perform any feature based on the Caller ID Name value???

At 1am, my wife got a message from her MOTO E saying that she was running out of space. She got an offer to delete some stuff.

Rather than wait till morning, she said she followed the prompts.

One of the prompts was; "Delete forever?". She said "Yes".

She has now deleted all her data, photos, etc. as if she had a new phone out of the box.

Is there any way to retrieve that data?

I m using Android Studio 4.2.1. When attempting to use Android emulator to enroll to MDM, it say "Unable to enroll rooted device" How do I able to let my Workspace One know this is a none root devices? I have attempted to use other virtual hardware profile and the error appear the same.

My friend got one of those online debit cards and tried to set up an account. It just had that circle arrow going around and around until it was refreshed. Then it was start all over again but come up with a different user name and still the same problem. Is this legit? I wouldn't be surprised if it's some shady ripoff company.

Context: Android 12 running on Pixel 3.

Reddit's app never worked well for me (it never properly opens links in my email), so I hunted down an alternative, Infinity. It works fine, however... Every now and then it completely loses it's default app settings. It's obvious this has happened, as when tapping a Reddit link I'm asked to choose between Reddit's app (which I would need to reinstall) or Chrome. So I go back to the defaults settings for Infinity, find all my settings have been cleared, reenable them, then tap the link in Gmail again.

I suspect something is resetting these default app settings when Infinity is updated. I encountered this a few minutes ago and checked to find that the app was updated yesterday.

I don't recall this behavior with other apps. Bug in Android? Bug in Infinity? Is there something I can do to make this stuff stick?

Does anyone know why the order of the movies and tv shows keeps changing on the Downloads screen?

Hi - I received notice from Tracfone that my Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom does not support VOLTE and that I need to upgrade to new device else lose service. I am in the continental USA and setup with AT&T sim. This phone is 4G LTE so this doesn't make sense. Also people in other countries (like india?) are using this device using VOLTE, however my device doesn't have the VOLTE option in the network settings menu like theirs does.

Can anyone help with this? How can I keep my Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom working with Tracfone service?

Is there any hope? Any updates, rooting, customizing that I can do?

I am planning to make a mobile app for mobile devices. It will be programmed in Flutter.
The app will display a list of a place, photos of it, information about it, and additional data.

The question is, where is the best place to store this data?
The information should be constantly added and modified, so all the data will be constantly updated. I don't have experience with this yet, where is the best place to store it?
Would a SQL database be best for this, or what other reasonable options are there?

In the settings area under 'Reading' there's a tickable option for 'Automatically turn pages - For Read and Listen eBooks'.

It was already ticked, but I don't know what it does.

It makes no difference to reading my ebooks if I have it ticked or not.

Am I missing something?

I am looking for an Android smartphone that is capable of dual SIMs. I know that Apple iPhones can do this, but I want an Android.

Some places I have read that the software on some smartphones designated for the United States market have that feature disabled.

Hi everyone,

i'm relative new to Android Studio but until now i had no troubles with running applications with CTRL+F9 and then to run the app i normally hit SHIFT+F10. This worked normaly. When i try to run my app over the console (adb -s emualtorXY install -t myapk.apk) it is working.

My problem is that in the Android Studio when i look at the icons where there is the play button to run the app the name of the emulator is grayed out! When i hover over with the mouse i get a message: "not applicable for the "MyApp::TestApp" configuration (Shift+Alt+F11). But when i hit this combo nothing happens .

I searched the web for a solution but found nothing until now. Maybe someone here does know what to do ??

Issue resolved partly.

I found an answer to the below question but where is this option if not on the homescreen settings? Like my MOTO G phone I can't find the homescreen option to lock icons but on my samsung tablet I found the settings.

So where is this setting on devices that don't have it listed in the homescreen settings area or do some devices just not allow this?

OK so my moms been having an issue where she keeps swiping her icons around or even off the screen and it's been hard to try and explain to her how to get them back.

So what I was wondering is is there a way my brother can help her by locking the icons into place where she can't swipe them around but she can still click them to open apps or FB messenger and such that way she can't accidentally swipe the icons off the screen Cause it is an ongoing thing with her being she's not at all tech savvy that was my dads area but for my mom love her as I do she's useless with computers and phones how she learned to do what she does we haven't a clue as phones and computers are not her thing!

If there is is there a page or video showing how to do this so I can send to my brother so he can set up my moms phone next time he's over?
