Samsung keyboard freezing

I'm having issues with my keyboard freezing when I make comments on YouTube. I've done all the obvious like uninstall YouTube, reset default keyboard, I've also looked for settings on the YT app but the issue is only on my phone not my other devices. I have premium so I'm always signed in. I also have a timer on the write side in the comment box that has a box with 0:12+ inside I tried to post a picture here but I don't know how. As soon as I try to type nothing happens and then my keyboard locks and doesn't go away until I turn off my phone. Anyone know what to do?

DESPERATE: Restore deleted text messages back onto phone!!

Hi,

I have a number of messages related to a legal matter that we inadvertently DELETED 9 days ago. I can use an app like DroidKit to see the messages, restore them to PC - but I can NOT restore them back to the device!

Since the phone is part of an ongoing investigation and I don't want it to appear as tampering I want to RESTORE those messages back to the original thread. They have not been overwritten and I just want to UNDELETE them.

To be clear, I am NOT trying to restore from backup, but rather the private data store where they are marked deleted but have not yet been overwritten. I only need to RESTORE them to the Message data store on the same phone. If there is a backup, I can't do a full reload - I need the option to ONLY restore text messages. I may have some Google backups but that's it.

Does anyone know how to do that? The phone is a Samsung S23 Ultra. I only use Textra as my messaging app.

Please help. Any assistance is greatly appreciated !!

Help Need help identifying an app, please.

Hi all,

I've been trying to identify what app this chat icon (outlined in red) is from. It's a screenshot from a Samsung phone in the USA. This is from a screenshot I received so I can't go into the phone and see what the notification is from. It's not the native Samsung or Google messages app. It's definitely not WhatsApp, FB Messenger or Signal. It has a right facing arrow inside of a speech bubble. I've tried googling but only come up with stock images for app developers. Can't find anything similar in the Play Store. Anyone ever seen this?

one plus Nord ce 3 hangs up and poor performance

Hi I am Rupesh from India and I have brought oppo Nord ce 3 and it frequently hangs up and performance is very slow.

My phone has 8 gb ram and Qualcomm Snapdragon 788g processor but still the performance is slow. It came with Android 13.

I brought oppo Nord ce 3 10 days back and after that I have installed os update through ota. The update was security update I mean it is not an update to Android 14. At present my phone is running Oxygen os Android 13.

Actually my phone has an 512 gb external memory card Samsung and it is loaded with MP3 and other files. I usually listen to music and copy from internal memory to external memory card and vice versa.

So I have installed es explorer file manager and solid explorer file manager.

Whenever I try to launch es explorer file manager and open the directory containing music files it shows message as loading and even after two minutes it still shows message as loading and finally opens.

When I switch to another app like folder player and play music and come back to es explorer the last opened folder is last and it starts from the beginning and when I try to open the same previous directory it still shows message as loading upto two minutes.

The same thing is happening with solid explorer also.

Along with one plus Nord ce 3 I have brought oppo pad air which has Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and 6 gb ram and it's performance is ten times better than one plus Nord ce 3.

One plus Nord ce 3 has better hardware than oppo pad air but still the performance is ten times lower.

Regarding one plus Nord ce 3 everything is working fine except that file system is slow and I think it has ufs 2.1 and not ufs 3.1.

Suppose I open any text editor and enter some text and keep it away for five minutes and after that try to open the same text editor the previously entered text is lost.

When I open es explorer file manager and keep away for five minutes and after that try to open the same es explorer file manager the previous opened directory is last and it starts from the beginning.

When I am examining files in es explorer file manager the folder player music player stops playing I mean it is hang.

With in 20 minutes the music player stops or hangs upto three times.

I have selected option allow background activity and even selected option don't optimise for the following apps

1) es explorer file manager
2) folder player music player
3) solid explorer

There is no use and finally I have selected option high performance mode under battery section and even no use I mean es explorer starts from the beginning.

Finally what I want to say is it's not keeping background activity.

As my phone has 8 gb ram only 4 gb ram is being used and remaining 4 gb ram is free. I have noticed ram usage under running services of developer options.

Kindly try to suggest what is the reason behind app hangs and how to improve my phone performance.

Regards,
Rupesh.

WhatsApp not inducing messages

Samsung Galaxy S21
Whatsapp is installed and working.
On Whatsapp on other devices when you get an incoming chat .... you get a number of the bottom right hand corner of the icon.
Great if you missed the notification sound, away from your phone etc.

Currently if I get an incoming WhatsApp chat message it does not get a number or increase the number to match messages.

How can I get this back working - tried de-install and reinstall - no change.

Contacted WhatsApp they asked me to check that notifications & badges were enabled - which they were., at that point they said its a phone issue.

Help Alternative to "Notification Blocker & Cleaner" app (Google Play) (Samsung S22)

Back in March 2023 I used the aforementioned app from Google Play specifically for the "Ongoing Notification Hider" capability. I needed to disable the Media Output Notification tied to my music player (Tidal). This was the only method that I found to work for my phone (after hours of trying).

Now I'd like to manage this setting to troubleshoot an issue I'm having with MacroDroid, however - I find that the app was unpublished from Google Play. Does anyone know of another app that has this specific capability that I can download from Google Play? I'd rather avoid downloading an apk unless it's directly from the original creators of the app (which I was unable to find).

Thanks.

Source For Unlocked Refurbished Android Phones?

Hello Folks:

TL;DR Is there a site, or other service, that can tell me if a phone is locked if I provide the phone's IMEI?

History

I'm done paying AT&T $90.00 a month for two phones, no network and no unlimited talk.

I purchased two unlocked Galaxy A14 5G phones from Back Market for $111.00 and 112.00.

When FedEx delivered the phones I ordered two $15.00 per month unlimited introduction plans from Mint. Mint SIMs were shipped.

I backed up my two $62.00 Galaxy J2 Dash phones to my computer and moved the SIM and SD cards to the two A14 phones.

Both phones worked with my current AT&T service. I was going to switch to Mint after the SIMs arrived.

I love these Galaxy A14 phones. I'm learning to appreciate why people might want to spend more than $62.00 for a phone.

First phone, reported lost or stolen and locked

After several hours one of the phones stopped working. The message I received suggested that phone was no longer connected to a valid AT&T account.

When I chatted with AT&T support I learned that one of the phones I just purchased was tagged as lost or stolen. When I mentioned that I was leaving AT&T I was also informed that the phone was locked.

The phone has been returned and Back Market emailed me that a refund is on the way.

Second phone, locked

The SIMS arrived so I attempted to activate the Mint sim in the remaining A14.

After I gave the Mint support person the phone's IMEI number he chatted back:

Thanks for patiently waiting. I already double check your device
here in my system and here's the system shows :

DEVICE NAME : Galaxy A14 5G
MODEL : SM-A146U
MANUFACTURER : SAMSUNG
Phone Status : LOCKED

Back Market support asked for a screenshot of the error message. They also told me that they checked, and the phone is on, which it is, I'm using it with my AT&T account. I really like this phone.

I don't have a screenshot of the message, but pasted Mint support's comment into the chat.

Back Market wants a screenshot, but has expressed a willingness to refund my money.

Suggestions?

I'm relying on AT&T and Mint support to tell me my phone's status.

Is there a site where I can enter the IMEI number and see for myself if a particular phone is locked? If this happens again I'd rather understand the situation immediately instead of relying on support. This would also give me the ability of taking a screen shot of the phone's status for Back Market support.

What are other people's experience when dealing with Back Market?

Two out of two locked phones sold as unlocked doesn't sound good.

The truth is that this is a small sample size. Am I just unlucky?

Bucks are tight right now. I really need phones that are in the $100.00 to $150.00 range. After the Galaxy J2 Dash I'm spoiled for the Galaxy A14 experience. I've looked at reviews and I don't think I'll find a satisfactory new phones in that price range.

Is there another market for refurbished cell phones? Do any of you have something nice gathering dust in a box you'd like to part with for a good price? I'm looking for an unlocked phone with a headphone jack, a battery that a technician can replace and a nice camera. 5G is not a requirement.

The good news is that Mint gives me three months to activate the SIMs and Back Market seems willing to refund my money. I'd just like to cut ties to AT&T before the billing cycle starts again in two weeks.

Thanks
Larry

AI and Sports Officiating

After my tirade last night about the inconsistency of officiating I went to bed thinking about possible improvements to what is now in place. I'm creating this tread in the NFL but it pertains to all sports and their questionable officiating. There needs to be major changes that don't slow the games down. The games are already slowed by challenges and reviews to the point that they distract from the games. As I was dozing off I considered AI. Why not? It would be lightening fast and be indisputable and non biased. It would remove those judgement calls that are so often blown. It just crossed my mind again so I did a quick Google search. I'm not the first to consider AI as a tool for officiating. Here is a link to my first search hit:

There is likely good and bad with any change. I'm not happy with sorry calls and no calls. Would AI change the flavor of the games for better or worse entertainment?

  • Question Question
Android w/ Google Messages RCS

I have Samsung A32 5G running Android 13 and Google Messages with RCS turned on. I text with about 20 people, but in Google Messages only about 3 of them in the main screen show RCS. Some of the people I text with use Android and some use iPhone, Why do not more of them show RCS? Do they also have to have RCS turned on in their messaging app?

  • Question Question
Can I turn off my missing smartphone from my laptop?

Hey all, I seem to have somehow managed to misplace my phone, and after using the Google online 'Find My Phone' website, cannot find it, even though it is showing that it's in my house somewhere....
It is slowly running out of charge, and playing a sound, nor calling the phone is allowing me to find it, so I am trying to find out if there is any way that I can remotely use my laptop to get the phone to Shut down?? Keep in mind that I do not have physical access to the phone, so cannot install any apps on the device, but since I can use the Google website to cause the phone to ring, without an app installed on it I am thinking there could be a way to cause it to shut down from a website. At least I am hopeful, that I may stop the battery from completely losing charge before I can find it.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, and Thanks in advance!!
