What I really want is an encrypted clipboard, so I can do language translations on desktop Windows and then copy and paste those over to the Android clipboard, without putting my translations into clear text. You can simulate this more or less by having the same word document open from Google Drive on both the desktop Windows and Android device. As you paste from Windows, the text shows up a few seconds later in the Google Docs document on Android. The problem of course is that none of that is encrypted.

Is there an encryption tool that works on both Windows desktop and Android that could be used to encrypt a Google docs file and still have that be writable from both sides?

I am struggling to figure out how to get the Google app to quit updating. Here is the backstory...

A few months ago after an update, my voice-to-text performance went way down. First off, the quality/ accuracy if it's translations of my speech when WAY down. To make matters worse, the feature where a word that the system was unsure of would be underlined and have some possible alternative translations were offered, went away. Visually, the old voice button was a teal green, and the new one was blue.

After a bunch of searching, I finally determined that this was all due to an update to the main Google app. I went to the app in under settings> apps and via the three dots in the upper right-hand corner was able to uninstall updates. This completely fixed the issue.

The next day, the new update was active again. I went to the Play Store and disabled the auto updates, and it is still happening. I uninstall the update and everything is great and the next day, or later the same day, the update has been installed again. All I can figure is that the update file is saved on the phone memory and the app is accessing it to update itself.

Soooo, is there any way to find and delete this update file off my phone? Or some other trick to keep it from updating by itself? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have to replace my current faulty phone. I'm probably going to be restricted to a pre-owned one and looking to spend around £80/£120 but I want one that has a removable battery as I don't appreciate built-in obsolescence !! From what I have seen, a lot of phones that have removable batteries are going to be about 3 years old and have an older OS installed. Some say things like Android 6 updateable to Android 8 etc. I have found that more and more apps will not now run on older OS.

My question is:- can ANY phone be updated to a latest OS or is there a limit on what they can take. Could someone explain to me how I will know what the latest OS a phone can take - what limits its upgradability??

Just got the Motorola One 5G Ace, trying to figure it out.

I live remotely, no wifi in the house. I used my old phone to watch Netflix but then found I could hook the phone up to my (dumb) TV with a HDMI-to-phone adapter cord. It worked great.

Well, I've tried the same with the Moto One Ace and it doesn't work at all. I've search online and think I have all the phone settings correct.

Is there an app I need to install to (re)direct the video output? Does anyone have any insights or advice? Is anyone else able to hook this phone diectly to a TV and mirror their screen? I have no wifi so cannot cast. I don't have sufficient data to set up a hotspot on my phone and then use my laptop (connected to my TV) to watch movies.

My kid has a Motorola G Power cell phone. I have location history enabled, but when I attempt to view the history in Google Maps, it indicates that there is no history. It says that location history is enabled, so I'm not sure why I see no location history.

Hi I'm hoping that someone can provide some advice please. My son has come home from school and has said that his phone was left in his bag and when got out of his back later in the day, the screen was damaged as per the photograph. There is no physical damage to the screen, it isn't cracked but it is not possible to swipe, it just displays as per the photograph. Could someone please advise what is the likely cause of this, if it can be repaired, and if so approx how much would it cost? If I try to make a call to it then the screen displays incoming call but there is no way to answer or switch the phone out of silent mode. I don't believe that the problem is water damage as the phone wouldn't have been near water during school. Hope someone can help. TIA.

Hi guys,

I live in Israel. I Bought Chromecast with Google TV and I have some problem.

Due to bad internet connection on my house and country, I have problems to stream apps like Netflix and PLEX, It doesn't stream smoothly like I watch on my laptop for example.

My main use is to watch movies that I'm downloading in my compute with subtitles I'm adding. Is there another solution to watch movies and Cetra directly throw the streamer and not via PLEX and Cetra?

The second question, I'm assuming that if ill connect the strimmer and the laptop directly to the Internet cable things will improve. The problem is I'm in my room and connecting to the Wi-Fi in the living room. I have the cable company equipment here also but I don’t really know what he does. But I think some of them connect the device to the internet.

I have a Galaxy Tab A, SM-T510 and the software is up to date.
When I edit an image in gallery and I save the changes it does not save the original.
Is there a setting to have the original saved?
In previous software this wasn't the case.

Please advise of carrier branding if relevant. I know that T-mobile allows bootloader unlocking but, their version of 5 G is not good.

My preference is a 5G phone that will work with:

28GHz spectrum (preferred) or 39GHz spectrum

Being rootable is most important; an unlockable bootloader would only be a bonus.

I desire a rooted 5G phone that I pop in my Verizon SIM card, and it works.

Maybe rootable 28GHz phones are the only real option at this time?

I have an S10e with the latest android update (11). I am using the Samsung phone app (12.1.10.34). My default ringtone is "Silent" with "Vibrate while ringing" off. My contacts are assigned into groups, some of which can "ring" my phone and some of which can't. That way, only numbers I choose (i.e., not Robo calls or some contacts) can ring my phone.

I like to listen to streaming media. When a call is received - even if that number is not assigned a ringtone - my streaming media is interrupted. Is there a way to shunt such calls immediately (and without interrupting my streaming media) to voice mail? Or some other way to keep streaming media playing while receiving a non-ringing call?
