It seems the new androids are starting to mix the past with the future - woot!!
So with that said, I am looking for a phone with the following features - hopefully there are manufacturers on here that read this and will implement if not available.

• Slider phone (req), don't need QWERTY board - see below, or a flip phone (not those gigantic ones
  
• Any OS
  
• Voice to text (comes with android) and other voice command features.

Those are really the 3 I am looking for. Problem is I am 80% - 85% hands free and use my device voice only - with the exception of data entry. That means it is imperative I get voice-to-text. OS is not an issue if it can at least support that.

Been looking on and off for a few weeks, and I see lots of slick looking sliders, but most of them pretty much dumped the old 90's os into a fancy new design.

Example the Old LG SECRET KF750 would be perfect if it was a little more modernized
the Nokia 7110 Type NSE-5 (the Matrix phone)

At first I thought the new RAZR was pretty slick, however it is a little "squatish" not quite like its predecessor. So decided against that one. I may get it for nostalgic reasons (I still have my old RAZR V3)

All those phone would be great if it had modern voice-to-text and voice support.

YES! I treat my device like an assistant. Its too bad the majority of the population still treat devices like SIDEKICKS(face buried while walking or sitting), Otherwise I feel the manufacturers would give more attention to the voice-to-text and other voice features. Its SHOCKING how many people do not use voice commands on their devices(I mean other than "call mom" and/or "text charlie brown - how is snoopy").

Anyone have any suggestions, even future phones? I may have to wait.

Hi, just bought a new phone and decided to have a look at podcasts,now everytime I open the phone I have annoying notifications.
Tried switching the notification thing off in settings but it's still there.
Also,is it possible to delete the podcast activity,lets me highlight the ones I want to delete ,but no delete buttons.

I have had this phone for 3 days and so far I dislike the new version intensely. 1) no more squeeze and assist, 2) swiping left and right is cumbersome, sticky and mostly does not work 3) not at all apparent how to keep more than one app open at a time since swiping does not work and MOST IMPORTANTLY, this version of the SW WILL NOT cooperate with Android Auto and get hooked up, while my old 3a even without its SIM card still hooks up right away and that is AFTER I de-authorized the 3a in favor of the 4a.

It's awfulllllll I am thinking of returning, incurring re-stock charge and spending WAY more money on an awful SAMSUNG (yuck) phone. .

This is NOT.

I fly a paramotor with a helmet that has an integrated bluetooth headset. The problem is the noise isolation isnt great so I want to use some bluetooth ear buds. What I would like is to be able to play the audio out of the ear buds while using the helmet's mic for the phone calls. I have a Galaxy s21. I see that I can connect both devices at once, and can even play my music out of both speakers at once, but if I start a phone call I seem to have to choose between which device to use and can't use both.

Is there an app or something I can install to let me use the mic from one bt device while directing the audio to another while on a call or playing music?

I downloaded a video, but the app separated the audio and video. I have an audio file and a video file. Is there an app to play this movie and have sound? Or an app to properly combine the 2 back together as 1 file?

My service provider is upgrading their network. The upgrade requires a new SIM card that I can't get to work. Texting is working, but I can't make or receive calls. Tech support has been disappointing.

Trouble shooting requires that I enable VoLTE, but I've been all through my phone's menu and haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Can anyone help me with this or confirm for me that it's not an option with this device?

Folks, Is there a way to change (and retain) the opening screen on my Samsung S10+? By that I mean when I first wake the phone up to use (phone was not off, but was a blank screen waiting for my wanting to use the phone) that screen is not something I want. As more info this is the screen that I swipe to bring up my unlocking choice. Once that is done the phone goes to what I call my home page and all is good. That screen I know how to change but this first one? I don't like it and would like to find a way to move from that. I've pulled out the rest of my hair here so thanks in advance.

How do I get one? I know it was included but who knows where it is now. No, a paper clip is not narrow enough to fit in the hole. I want to get the "tray" out and put in a 256 gb SD card. Maybe some day the Stylus will magically repair itself and I won't have to use the Play.

My oneplus5 phone (everything updated) is having a weird issue where only certain apps can access media.

- Messenger apps, social media apps, and basically everything else say that I have no image files on my device.
- When I take a screenshot, my phone says I'm out of storage, even though I can access each of these new screenshots through file explorers. I have over 15gb of storage free.
- ES File Explorer and other 3rd party file explorer apps can access every single file
- Google Photos can only access photos on my device from before when this issue started, including screenshots and other files not on the cloud


I've tried restarting, reset app preference, clearing app caches and data(google play service, media storage).

Tried checking logs, getting unable to open media database error.

What can I do about this issue?

I have an S21 Ultra and have about 150 gigs of music on the phone. I have a SanDisk USB Type-C flash drive and am planning on using the SanDisk Memory Zone app to do a backup of the music. On Galaxy 10 - my app drawer had a 4 pages of apps previously. It now has 4 additional pages, each one containing one or two duplicate apps of what are on the older 4 pages. HOw do I get rid of them? I've found older posts that apply to a specific "Launcher," but I have no idea what that means, and am using only what the Samsung phone provides.

I tried to install more than 40 different roms and none of them work. Only one rom works, and even then when I install it the touchscreen doesn't work.
The rom is:

I use several apps I developed starting back in 2006 so I'm not new to Android programming in Eclipse...Android Studio is another beast.

I haven't modified any of my apps since 2019 and they have been stable since then on any platform I've used, typically my Samsung phone(s) and multiple tablet brands.

My issue is that my Windows computer died. I replaced it with a new one and realized that now might be a good time to migrate to Android Studio...I'm only a decade behind but things were working great so why mess with it...yada, yada, yada.

Here's the problem: I used the "importing" option in AS 4.2.1 to create a project for one of my apps, thinking I would learn on that one before plunging in on all the others. I fully expected to have some growing pains yet I didn't count on not being able to even get a build started. Yes, I expected code changes but not build script changes that don't work.

Gradle is foreign to me so I was surprised to find the build aborted on attempting to find "com.android.tools.build:gradle:4.2.1" in the "jcenter" repository, et. al. when these are part of the AS importation added by AS. I could accept if this was an error due to an old location provided by Eclipse or my build but this was a change implemented by AS 4.2.1.

I've searched deeply on fixes for this that always require adding/modifying the repositories in the script as well as dependencies and I've attempted those without any success. I realize I'm now a "newbie" all over again yet it isn't clear to me just what the repository should be; I've tried adding "Maven" and "Google" as I found in some other suggestions without any success.

Forgive the newbie question since I hate to ask this because I suspect it has been asked a zillion times already yet I'm stumped on what is expected. I hate to go back to Eclipse since most of the world is using AS.

Thanks for any help you can provide. The good news is my apps are all still working; this is just me trying to duplicate my apps in a new system so I can update them if necessary in the future. I don't really want to redesign them from scratch just to have a way to update them later if I don't need to do that.

So I've got a Huawei Mediapad T1 8.0. It's pretty old now. But I still think I could use it.

Anyway, I tried to do a factory reset - as the wifi wasn't connecting and was greyed out.

But unfortunately, I stupidly interrupted the factory reset, and turned it off when the green Android repairing icon was displayed. It was a static image, and I thought my tablet froze.

Now when I turn it on, I just get the turn on screen followed by a black screen. But you can still tell that there's a dim black light on, because when I hold the power button it turns completely off.

Also I still see a charging battery icon when I plug it into my laptop.

Is there anything I can do to get it going again? And to finalise my factory reset?
