A few weeks ago, just one of my contacts (My Son, my most important one!) became unable to answer my texts or to call me. His phone tells me I’ve blocked him. I haven’t! His number is not on my blocked list and to make sure I’ve unblocked all of my blocked numbers. Both of our carriers assure us there is no connectivity issues between our numbers. Hi Everyone, fool here that needs help

Google play services wasn't working properly on my phone so ended up doing a factory rest. I had lots of videos & photos on my sd card so removed it before doing so thinking it would be ok.
So done factory reset but when i inserted the sd card it says 'it needs to be formatted' ....
Have i lost everything on the card? Also i now think they may have been few pics on phone memory. Is there anyway i can get them back?

Some people--but not all people--who call me regularly have started experiencing a problem where their calls go directly to my voicemail. That occurs whether they call my Ting number or my Google Voice number. If I make a call to my Ting number from Google Voice on my PC, my android phone rings as it should. Moreover, these same people have been able to contact me in the past. This is a recent problem. Can anyone suggest what the problem may be?

This is a hard question to phrase. Suppose I'm driving from LA to Vegas - about 250 miles. I have the directions being given to me by the built in app. I'm just leaving LA. I'm hankering for 5 Guys. I have a tight schedule. So I may not necessarily want to find the closest one to where I am at that moment but the closest one to my route - be it 5 miles a head or 200 miles ahead. Is there any way the system can look at my route and say - OK - in 160 miles there is a 5 guys just 1/2 mile off the highway that is on your route?

I am planning to buy a laptop for android development. Is Intel Iris Xe Graphics along with i7, 16GB ram and 512GB SSD enough for Android Studio and emulator to run smoothly without any lag?

Some people said Intel Iris Xe Graphics is not enough to run emulator. I am a bit confused on moving forward.

Hello, I have recently found my MXQ S805 and plugged it in, the light turned blue but I have had no HDMI Output. It currently had no OS on it so I flashed TWRP and it will not boot from SD Cards even if the recovery mode button inside the AV Input is pressed

Hey! My phone wasnt responding to touch, so i shut it off, expecting it to reboot normally. When i tried to turn it back on, it either:
-Got stuck on the loading screen
-Turned on and got to the loading screen, then turned off
-Wouldnt turn on at all

I was able to access the factory reset menu, but with every single option (aside from reboot or power off) comes up with the result 'E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)' repeatedly. This happens for every single option, including factory reset, which im fine with doing because i didnt have too much stuff on the phone.

Ive attempted this twice now, and after i reboot the phone it gets stuck in the same loops as above. I removed the SD card and tried it, that didnt help much either. I dont wanna lose this phone as i need my CAR GROOVES . i gotta JAM. anybody have experience with this issue? please help !

I am in a bit of pickle right now.

It was quite rainy where I live, so when I took my phone (Huawei Y6 Elite Android 5.1) outside it fell in some water. It worked initially - I dried it and all.

Then, at the end of the day I powered it off.

I was trying to watch some YouTube, but then I couldn't power it on. I am 15 years old, and my dad gave me the phone (which used to be his) so I just said I'm going to charge it to him so he wouldn't be suspicious.

OK, so GOOD NEWS incoming.

Whenever I charge it, it shows up with the 'charging' screen.

I tried charging it for 1 hour and it wouldn't boot although it would show the charging screen.

Tried to put it in a bowl of rice for 1.6 days - took it out and still nothing.

I'm panicking right now as my dad would absolutely kill me if he finds out what I did to my phone, I need help ASAP.

Some of my ideas is to try to charge it for some more time and pray to G-d that it boots.

Another idea would be to tinker inside the components and dry them.

I need other ideas immediately. I am quite worried.

So i have a EditText field, which i want to, check if the age is above and under my limits.

But also, i want to simply check if the field is empty, for what i used.

Unluckly this one is not working, i think it sort of get in to conflict with the first one or something, because i tried with just one condition of both, and it works..
I also tried to store in String variable the method to check isEmpty(), and also in int one, to do the age comparation, but it still not working.

(EDIT: Originally I said "text-to-speech", but I meant "speech-to-text".)

I have a Samsung S9, with Verizon, on Android 10. I use the Google speech-to-text engine.

A couple of months ago something changed - there was some software update that really made the speech-to-text function a lot worse. I'm not sure if it's a Google thing, a Verizon thing, a Samsung thing, an Android thing, or what. Pretty sure it's the latter - Android, as it affects all the apps.

Specifically - here's the new problematic behavior:

• Very often when I speak a sentence, there's a bug that causes the sentence to be duplicated. E.g. I'll say "I'll be home in 15 minutes", but the text that shows up is "I'll be home in 15 minutes; I'll be home in 15 minutes"
• There's also a new bug where it doesn't translate punctuation correctly. E.g. I'll say "period" at the end of the sentence - sometimes it changes this to '.', but sometimes it just leaves it as "period".
• In general it's just not as good at detecting what I'm saying, as it used to be - getting words wrong more often.
• Often times it just doesn't detect anything at all - just sit there dumbly and time out as if I didn't say anything, and time out, even though I have good internet connection.
• Or often it'll just fail with a double-beep for some reason, even though I have good internet connectivity.
• The functionality to be able to switch back and forth between manual typing and text-to-speech is now gone. Now once I start typing, the microphone icon no longer shows up, and thus I can't switch to speech. (This is a desirable thing to have - e.g. to speak a sentence, go back and correct a word via keyboard, then continue speaking the rest; this is no longer do-able)

Anyone know what update may have broken this, and if there's anything that can be done about it?
