ADB command is not permanent - Solved

I am using the Synergy app on Android Lollipop. It requires rooting and an ADB command to work properly.

It is used to share the PC mouse and keyboard with Android device.

The ADB command apparently only work on Android Lollipop.

It does work. But the problem is that it needs to be redone after each reboot.

I want a solution to make it permanent.

Can anyone suggest a solution for this?

Maybe a more modified ADB command or by using a script?

I never used scripts on Android devices yet.

The command is:

adb shell su 0 setenforce 0

Cannot transfer files to flash memory Android head unit

I have a Seicanne h6 in two of my cars and they work great. Recently I tried to transfer video and audio files from usb thumb drive to the internal flash memory. The preloaded file viewer app doesn’t allow for file transfer, copy or paste only viewing. After some research I downloaded two file transfer apps from the play store. One app (exFAT / NTFS) doesn’t seem to see the usb thumb drive the other can’t successfully transfer.
Should I keep trying file management apps? Seems like there is a file loader app on android head units other than the play store but that hasn’t been successful either. Am I missing something here? Why does the android head unit maker want to make it hard to transfer files onto the flash memory.
I’m a mechanic and have little experience with coding so any advice please describe steps in detail. Thank you

Help Can't use keypad during call to select an option!

Whenever I phone a business that requires me to press a number to select an option I am screwed! Example: "Please press 1 to speak to a member of staff". I have to wait to see if the number will automatically put me through to someone when I fail to select an option. Seriously, even the first mobile phones that came out could manage this simple process. Have I got a setting wrong or is a Nokia 5110 (1998) better at managing this process than a Pixel 4a (2020)? Please note, I can see the keypad, however when I press a number it is not recognised by the automated line. Thank you for any advice :)

Help Cannot move any app to SD-Card on Samsung J7

I've added a 32GB SD-card to my Samsung Galaxy J7 (SM-J730F)
The SD-card is formatted on the device and is visible as device within the storage settings

When I tried to move apps to the SD-Card (Settings -> Apps -> Select app -> Select Storage -> Change storage), I don't see the change button for change the storage device
Also when moving documents I don't see the SD-Card as storage option.

I've tried reformatting the SD-Card.
When connectiong the J7 to a laptop, the SD-card is visible and documents can be put on the SD-Card.

Does anyone know, why I'm not able to move any apps to the SD-Card?
Is there some kind of security setting preventing this?
Could it be related to the type/size of the SD-Card?

Thanks

Help Select to speak only reads toolbar

On my S9 trying to get Select to Speak to read a google doc, but it only reads the tool bar "emoji voice input gif clipboard" If I try to highlight a passage it reads "Cut Copy Paste Select All" but not the passage. I once managed to force it into the text itself and it said "No text found at that location" though there very clearly is. What am I doing wrong?

Which Mx Player Codec Works With Samsung A7 2020?

I have a Samsung SM-7500 Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020). I want to use the MX Player video application with this tablet, and Mx Player has separate download files for the Codecs. Which codec file do I need? The processor and GPU information is:

CPU Octa-core (4x2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver)
GPU Adreno 610

The MX Player Codecs talk about versions of ARM and Tegra.

Help At&T model, on T-Mo, can't update from Android 7 to 8

Hi- I bought a used LG V20 that is an AT&T phone. It worked fine on T-Mobiles network, but I haven't been able to upgrade from Android 7 to 8. My model # confirms it is an AT&T phone, and I can see the various updates at&t has for this phone, but not using their service means I can't use their updates.

I currently have no SIM in it, but I would think that doesn't make a difference. When I use the Update function, it says that I'm up to date, which is obviously wrong.

I tried LG Shield last night but it said it wouldn't work with this phone. How else would I be able to get these updates?

I am medium tech savvy, but nothing like many of the enthusiasts out there. I can figure out basic stuff.

Instead of discarding this phone I'm planning on
1. Update to at least Android 8, hopefully that fixes a problem I had with Google Play
2. Install a wireless receiver

Thanks!
Randy

SOLVED: text and call notifications disappearing

I was not getting notifications for calls or messages even though every checkbox was on.

I could see the text message notification icon blink for a second, phone call was not even doing that.

Solution:
Settings/Apps
Click 3-dot setting menu (upper right corner) and select:
Special Access
This opens another menu that lists types of phone controls. I selected Notification Access.

It is here that I was able to look uncheck apps that were taking over my notifications. The culprit was Clean Master (I use it to clear memory and cool the CPU). Once I unchecked it, I started getting notifications back.

Anyway, hope this helps. Maybe you know the menu where I found it. Very frustrating. It started on my older phone and the setting carried over to new phone so glad I at least got it working.

Note: I went into other Special Access control menus like Change System Settings and made sure certain apps didn't have control. This is much easier than going through each app.

Where are my Pictures??

Who created this environment?? Did no one test it to see if it was usable?
1. Take a picture
2. Open whatever tool the phone comes with to view them. See it's there... okay.
3. Create an email
4. Try to attach the picture...
Can you find it?? I can't.

There are all these different directories you have to search through, and MAYBE you will stumble across it.

Note that at step 2, you can SEE it but you are not allowed to know WHERE IT IS.

So, the attempt to make things simple for dummies actually makes things impossible to figure out.

At least in Windows, I know the directories, can control where stuff is stored, and have access to it.

When will Android allow that? After all, they are on what...? Version 11 by now?

I've put up with this nonsense since my Samsung G3. I've on phone #4 now, every one a different brand. So this isn't limited to whatever carrier I'm using.

What happened to me?

Some of you may have ever wonder what ever happened to that Cyberdev/GamerROM Inc guy? Did he stop working on android projects...did something bad happen to him?...did he die from covid or something?....

Well here is all those answers why you barely seen posts from me. Well no i never gotten covid but covid has affected me and my business.

It affected my living situation because we couldn't afford paying only rent but other bills, this left me having to move in with my gfs mom now ex gfs house and its not great here either.....i stopped all my projects because the environment is too rough to concentrate with a deaf karen who cant hear but shows anger alot through violence and lost majority of my revenue due to it, i still luckly have a youtube channel named "Cyber Gaming Studios" thats still helping pay some not all my bills.

I do pray for a miracle that one day i can have some help but avas that never is gonna happen for years my own family never helped me but i have helped them.

But overall im fine i just stopped posting because of my current situation hope your having a great day!

Upgrade Android on Galaxy S3 and S7

Hello,

I'm new to the forum.

Firstly my venerable Galaxy S3 - 3g only (not the LTE version) - currently sitting in a drawer with Android 4.3 as the operating system. Are there any other Android versions that would be better than S3 - even after an op system reload it runs like a pig with the current version.

Secondly, is there any mileage in 3G any more, even if the phone had a better Android version? I live in Reading, about a mile from the town centre. As I approach the town centre I can get about 9Mbps which would be fine for what I want - but at home it's rarely above 2Mbps, and most of the time it's much less, say 0.25Mbps, so effectively useless. Would an improved Android system make any difference? This is with Vodafone.

My newer Galaxy S7 - just wondering if there was any likely improvement from loading something like, Android 10 Q over the Samsung supplied version? What improvements might i get - would the phone run better.

Many thanks,
Paul
