re-set options?

my android phone capacity is totally full

is there any way to re-set and delete a bunch of inessential data etc? I wouldn't mind getting rid of all the podcast episodes in STITCHER, for example, but I want to keep my subscriptions. (and delete the specific episodes on the phone...) Is there an option to do that somehow??

thanks!

[Game] [Free] [Dev] Floes: Tap and Bounce.

Hi!

I’ve made with my girlfriend our first little chillout android game called "Floes: Tap and Bounce".

It's colorful game with little penguin, lot of skins to unlock, leaderboards, trophies and simple smooth gameplay.

You can download it from Google Play Store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idryan.floes

You can also check the intro and gameplay on YouTube.

If you have any suggestions or ideas, please post a comment. It will really help us to make our games better :)

Thank you all!

Download using HTTPS doesn't work on old versions

I have an app which downloads simple text files from my website using HTTPS. I have been testing it on emulators for every version from API18 onwards, and on real devices running API18 and API28. It works fine for API21 and above, but for API 18 and API19 it fails - the download just hangs.

The app uses DownloadManager, but I have also tried some code using HttpsURLConnection, with the same result.

I have read some old stuff that seems to talk about problems with HTTPS on old Android versions but it wasn't clear what the issues were.

Can anyone help a novice developer to understand the problem, and tell me how to download using HTTPS on Android version API19 and older?

automatically switch custom wallpapers and change pic every given time

Hi guys,
I'm looking for free app that can switch automatically my background wallpapers on phone, every few X minutes, chose by me,and if possible for app to fit pics on screen size, it's 2280x1080 resolution, and pics are smaller resolution (from instagram).
It would be great to pick pics from folders and import them with just one click instead of importing 1000 pics individually.

Go back to voice to text engine that suggests options when its not sure which word was spoken

Hi everyone not sure exactly which point but my voice to text engine changed so now it does not give options when it's not sure which word you said

Ie you click the word in question and a sort of drop down list appears with alternatives

Anyone know how to revert to that voice to text engine? I loved it

I don't believe the change was due to firmware / os update on my part but I guess it's possible

Cannot login to an Android Phone because don't know previous account

Ok, so I'm not sure how I got it this way. It's an LG VS995 phone. (Has a cracked screen but my daughter uses it.) I was changing stuff on the phone but I wanted to secure it differently because we keep a very close eye on our kids on what they're doing. So, I decided to wipe the settings to start over from scratch. Now I'm trying to login and no email address is taking. I've tried everything we've ever used but nothing is getting accepted and it won't let me sign in without the system matching it to a previous login.

So, what do I do?

Advice on App architecture needed

I want to find a developer to create an app that can run on both android and iOS platforms so need some advice before I start looking...

The user would tell the app what item they are looking to buy by choosing a number of set criteria from drop down lists on the app screen.

The app would interrogate a number of niche online shops/stores (initially about 20) to find the desired product, and a list of stores and prices would be displayed in tabular format, cheapest at the top.

These niche stores have prices which can change a number of times during the day.

I know that some sort of periodic/ scheduled web scraping will have to take place to harvest the price data at certain times during the day.

I envisage that this price data along with the relevent product data will have to be stored on a database somewhere which can be accessed by the app once a user runs a price query.

So initial questions are:
1. What would be the best application dev software to use for a dual mobile platform end result? E.g. flutter etc

2. Would an external database being accessed and queried by the app be the best way to go?

3. If so what type of database would be best for this?

4. How best could the web scraping be achieved with a view to storing in database suggested in 3 above?

Scale-wise I am initially looking at scraping from 20 websites each having approx 100-200 same-comparable-products which would be price compared and the top 10 cheapest offerings then displayed to the user.

Any help and guidance in steering me in the right direction is greatly appreciated[/QUOTE]

Galaxy 8 not syncing with multiple apps - Help!

Howdy folks,

Device is Samsung Galaxy S8. So I recently wiped my phone, do it every year or so to keep it sharp. Since then, I noticed that my google calendar stopped syncing. Let me define that, if I generate an event on my browser calendar it pushes to my phone, but not the opposite. If I generate an event on my phone, it will not sync to the cloud, just stay local on my device. If I hit refresh in app it does not push it either.

Also, certain work email notifications are not clearing as they previously did on the prior OS aka clicking on a chat in browser that also will ping my phone, I touch the chat message and the app notification should wipe and it doesn't. This leads me to believe that it's not at the app level but phone level. I have tried in the settings--->accounts auto sync data and everything seems enabled. All the app settings say sync etc and have access to storage and notifications. All apps are current patch level. I have excellent wifi and cell service where I reside. I have cleared cache of all affected apps, and cleared data. Phone is patched to current OS update. I'm pretty lost for next steps. Help? I appreciate any and all assistance.

Multiple Navigation Activities in App in different packages

Is there any way to implement multiple navigation activities in an app to correspond with different sections?

I've tried to put them in different sections like so, but cannot create a second instance even in a different package.

Code:
java
|_ com.myapplication.businessapplication
   |_ employeetool
      |_ EmployeeNavigationActivity
   |_ managertool
      |_ ManagerNavigationActivity
|_ MainActivity

Basically, I want different classes of people to see different NavigationViews, and wanted the logic to be separated from each other.

Water drinking reminder app? Is there such a thing?

Ok, thought I'd get your attention. But I'm looking for a water drinking app that would get my attention. I've tried hydro coach and a few others. But they're not very obtrusive so I don't notice the alerts. Whatever noise it makes to drink, it's time based... So like every hour. It's basically a clock chime telling me it's the top of the hour. Wonder if there's an app that maybe varies the time a little and is more obnoxious. Also, I have a Samsung smart watch. It would be nice if it buzzed my wrist and showed on that to drink .
