I have an LG G6 with Android 8 OS. I'd like to know if I can avoid the possibility of it updating to Android 9 OS or higher forever. I mean effectively block any OS upgrades so that there are no accidents. If the phone becomes more vulnerable, let it be.

This OS still allows phone recordings (related to my Stylo 6 thread). I would hate to go through the effort of swapping phones and then have it install OS 9 or higher in the middle of the night.

I know there were other options discussed, but I'd like to swap this phone with a family member and give them them my Stylo 6...help them out and give them an upgrade while I can use a phone and OS that meets my needs perfectly.

Also, how can I stop updates upon resetting the phone? Looks like you are forced to updates when resetting the phone.

I did a Factory Reset on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A - 2016 version (SM-T580NZWAXAR) & want to know if the tablet can still be used w/o setting up a Wi-Fi connection?

Example: Windows can be setup w/a Local Account, no Microsoft account needed.
Can this be done on the tablet? Just a local account & not a Google account?

This has been driving me crazy recently.

I do not want to install google maps new updates from play store.

I have all apps set to "do not auto update apps", currently i can see that there is a new google maps update pending but something odd is happening.

I am happy with version 10.60.1, which normally looks like this:



But recently for some reason maps layout changed to this:



and drives me mad, i have not updated of course and this seems to happen automatically even after a few hours now or immediately after. So i usually roll back to factory version and then force an installation with APK mirror, which woks well for a while but not anymore. The first time i had the installation from google play original version etc and this happened all of a sudden.

Which is the "new" layout and is driving me mad, as i really don't like it and you cannot go fullscreen in walk mode if you don't do navigation which is awful, plain crap. Would it be possible to know:

1. Why is this happening? are they force feeding us updates even though you have updates blocked?
2. When it does this sneaky update, why when you go to about > google maps > it still shows 10.60.1



3. CAN I BLOCK THIS FOR GOOD?

I'm just new to the forum and something is really bothering me.

I downloaded Android 11 on my Galaxy a51 device the other day and since then, whenever I tap on Mortal Kombat, it just blinks. It won't let me play the game.

I have tried so many things, but the only solution was to adjust the screen resolution to Full HD, but then the screen got significantly smaller since the phone isn't designed to handle this resolution, I guess.

Do you think something can be done about that?

i rooted my samsung s7 edge by following this tut - (84) Root Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge on Nougat with Magisk 14 - YouTube
everything was fine.
then one day i flashed a new rom called LINEAGE 17.1 on my s7 edge.
rom got flashed but i lost twrp recovery and also the phone says it is not properly rooted.
since the stock download mode of the s7 edge dsnt come up i can flash twrp recovery again, which also means i can't flash any other rom either. i don't know what to do, please help me with a solution?

How do you purchase music on Note 10+ and import to Samsung music app since Google got rid of Google play music?

A month ago, I keep getting a message on my phone saying that Samsung drive will expire soon and to use Onedrive instead. Since I did this, all my photos on my phone is being synced not backup to my Onedrive. When I go into Onedrive under Settings, it has a new menu called Gallery sync. The old Onedrive backup has been removed. I always take photos or download meme and delete them off my phone the next day. Onedrive always backs it up real-time but now it syncs it overnight. How do I have it as the old way again?

I have been experiencing an issue that's kind of rare but I can seem to figure out where the issue lies. I used to think it was with a specific app like WhatsApp or Spotify but recently I have been using Signal and Mixcloud and experienced the same issue.

What happens is I will have my music playing in my car over bluetooth, if i get a call through WhatsApp or Signal then answer the call the music will stop for a minute but then start playing in the background. It's relatively quiet but I can hear it playing. I have tried crashing the music app and the music will stop for a minute but then out of nowhere it will start playing again. If i try to pause the music, it will pause for a few seconds and then play again. what is even more strange is yesterday i had no music playing and got a call and the music started playing. The only thing i can do to stop everything is crash the chat app or hang up the call and call the user back again.

I currently have a Pixel 5 and last year i had the Pixel 4xl all with different OS versions. This is leading me to believe it has something to do with the Android OS all together.

It is very rare that this happens but is very annoying when it does.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Sometimes I'm offered my email address. More often I'm offered my email address with an added space. Even after I've deleted the incorrect one.

The 154-page manual provides no clues at all. I could use some help (the official product's forum is managed by a "rocket surgeon" that doesn't know how to use email verification for account creation).

1. Is there a way to change the default manner in which an incoming call may be answered from a locked screen? I have no accursed idea what "expand to circle" frikkin' means, and I claw and scrabble frantically at the screen hoping SOMETHING works before the caller gives up and terminates the call.

2. Why can't I unlock the screen with a PIN while the phone is ringing? It would be faster than that stupid "expand to circle" circus act. (unanswered, but have solved this by other means, like a two-fer)

Android Auto works well EXCEPT trying to retrieve existing texts & emails. If I am connected via Bluetooth only, I can retrieve them, getting a list of all of them. I've done all of the setup that I'm aware of on my phone and car.

So I went and cleared the data and cache of the Google Play Store app on my girlfriend's Samsung phone, and now it doesn't work at all. When I open the app, there's only the message "No results found". I can't search, view nor update apps. I tried restarting the phone and clearing the cache of Play Services, but it's still not working.
SOS, how could I get it to work again?
