I want to put a 40 X 40 DP icon somewhere on my app's screen. Now according to the ratio (3:4:6:8:12:16) of 6 different logical buckets, I have provided an icon(.png file) with different sizes in 6 different drawable folders.

In my case, the icon sizes must be "MDPI = 40 X 40 PX, HDPI = 60 X 60 PX, XHDPI = 80 X 80 PX and so on" to maintain the same quality across devices at 40 X 40 DP.

After doing so, I'm testing the app on a device with an HDPI screen, which means it should look into the "drawable-HDPI" folder and render an image that basically fills up all the pixels (60 px in a space that has 60px(based on the screen)). But somehow, the icon appears blurry.

What went wrong here !?

Meanwhile, I tried putting an icon with much higher pixels(512 x 512 PX) in the HDPI folder and it renders with high quality.

The only confusion is - Despite filling out all the pixels contained in 40 DP on an HDPI display, how an image with more pixels(512) has better quality?

So I have FB messenger in two spots. One in Secure Folder for work and another for family. The problem is I'm no longer receiving notifications for my work messages in Secure Folder. If I've unlocked it yes, but not useful in my case as I lock it so kids or cats don't cause chaos playing with my phone. Help! I've done all I know to do to receive them outside of Secure Folder. It seemed to work a few months ago but has since updated.

I last asked about this in 2014...On an apple phone, when I get a text alert, it shows up on the screen when the phone is locked. As an option, It will show who the text is from but hide the content of the text. Does android allow this now? Last time I had an android phone my options were: 1) show who the text is from AND part of the text (no privacy). 2) Show the text alert but do not show who the text is from or any part of the text (thus forcing me to stop what I'm doing and unlock the phone to check. 3) Or hide all text alerts. Being that I am busy at work I would like to see WHO the text is from but HIDE the context of the text. This way it allows me to either ignore the text (from say sport group buddies) or read it (from wife, kids, etc) all at the same time keeping the message private. Thanks!

I recently transitioned from a Nexus 6 to a Realme (Oppo) X2. Generally happy with it, except the phone saves a good proportion of my contacts locally, and as I access my Google contacts from other devices, I want thm all there - none saved to my phone. So there are two questions:
1. How to do I stop my phone from grabbing new contacts and saving them locally.
2. How to I move all my phone contacts to Google?

So i have a Oppo r7sf and i install the official twrp app, i had flash twrp successfully but when i turn my phone off and hold the volume down button and the power button the oppo logo keep flicker and so i released it and it just turn on like normal, i can't even enter normal recovery, pls help.

Surfing the internet I read an article on a website. In the article there was an Instagram video with several icons (likes, comments...) and also this icon (I attach a photo to the post). For who has Instagram, what does it means ? I tried to click on it but nothing happens, if I click on the other icons it redirects me to instagram (ex: if I click on the like icon I get the message "log in to instagram to like", that is an input occurs). I repeat that I was on another site, I read an article with this video and this icon attached. What does the icon means? Did I accidentally share something ?

I am anxious to share files with my contacts via PC and especially via mobile phone,especially when surfing the Internet. When maybe I copy/paste something,click on a link,icon or making other steps,I'm afraid that unintentionally I'll share something.
My question is: basically,especially on mobile, must you enter the app and then click on share to share a file ? Can't you share something without realizing it,right?
Ps:but is it possible that a file sharing notification appears on my phone and that by clicking on it I automatically share ?

I created an app in html5. Its an basic bible app with a lot of pages and a couple of images, nothing to complicated.

How can i import all those pages (the app) to continue my development in android studio so i could finally put it in google play store?

If i could get a step by step process about how i can do it i would appreciate it.

Btw i used wysiwyg web builder to build this project. It is a drag and drop software. I'm not so good in programming so that's why i use drag and drop software's to create what i want in a short time.

I want to use one of the new features of Java 14, Records. I want to know if android studio would support java 14, and if so how do I setup Android studio to reference the java 14 jdk.

I know I can update the JDK Location by going to file>project structure> SDK Location and down to JDK Location. But it seems to default to the Android studio jre. If I update this to my installation of Java 14, how will this affect my current applications in Android Studio? Is this where I need to point to the java jdk?

I attempted to update this location but it says to choose a valid jdk 8 directory.

Thoughts?

Hi all ! I have 2 doubts about Whatsapp
1)In a whatsapp group for now I can only see through the info all the users who have viewed my message. But can I see every time a certain user has visited a group (ex: Andrea entered Wednesday at 15:30 or I can only see when he displays the message and that's it ?

2))On Whatsapp you can see the status of your contacts. But the Whatsapp status is confirmed as displayed when you click on it or when you simply switch to the screen with all the statuses of your contacts ?

So I'm working with Camerax, new to Android development, and I'm attempting to write an application that takes an image on a specific event, not button related, without having to pull up the camera application. I have it all working, but my MainActivity is overloaded. So to clean up the MainActivity.java file I decided to offload different aspects to other files. Such as normal OOP concept.

So I created a CameraFuncs.java file. Which I setup a constructor that I passed an object of the MainActivity class so I can access all the UI objects.


my orientation listener works just fine. I have access to UI objects. Everything seems to be working just fine. Execpt when I attempt to bindtolifecycle(). It throws an error.

Is there anyway to export my playlists from google play to another player or to a format that can be imported such as m3u ? None of the music in my playlists is purchased music. its all stuff I own that I ripped from a CD or downloaded MP4s from other places. Sme of them are quite large and would take a great deal of time to rebuild from scratch...
