Only some photos lost from gallery

Hello - noticed today that a pile of photos are missing from my gallery - samsung s8. I haven't gone thru the hundreds yet but at first look everything from around October thru the beginning of this week is gone. I took a pic yesterday and it's there. The whole group missing IS on my onedrive and google photos thankfully. I can't be sure but there is probably a coincidence going on here - on Sunday I got an email from amazon offering a gift card to download amazon photos and upload at least one pic...ok, great idea as I had been wanting to use my fire tablet to take pictures of recipes I want to save and keep them separate from all my other photos. Planned on keeping them in amazon photos and not syncing any of my other stuff so I didn't use up much space in amazon. Downloaded to my tablet but kept saying it couldn't register (I read today that it's not compatible with fire tablets, talk about dumb) so I downloaded it to my phone. I took a picture and uploaded it so that I can get the gift card. I did not turn on auto sync, etc. because I wanted it to be separate. All seemed fine but I did notice some random photos from my phone showed up in the amazon photo app, really old ones. Was weird but not big deal. Then it was just today as I was looking for something in my gallery that I was like whoa, where are all my recent pics? Did the amazon app do something? Not sure. But they are gone. AND I also noticed in the gallery app that I now have two albums named camera, one has 100 pics in it and the other has close to 500. As far as I recall, they were all in one camera album beforehand. When I connect my phone to my pc I can't even find the larger camera album which scares me.
Not sure what to do and don't want to do anything without advice from someone with a brain. I had hoped possibly uninstalling the amazon photos app from my phone would help, but it did not. Should I delete everything from the gallery app and copy over the photos from google photos? And if so, how exactly do I do that?
Any help would be appreciated, it's driving me nuts, have spent hours googling trying to figure out what to do. Thanks in advance....

Help Lock screen won't keep wallpaper

Android 10, LG G8 ThinQ, Nova Launcher, no third-party wallpaper app.

I've had the same picture on my Lock Screen for a long time. It just recently started changing to a solid background (Home Screen doesn't change), but the picture comes back when I restart the phone.
I've tried setting it from Gallery, Google Photo, System Settings, and directly from a hard press on the home screen. I've tried setting both Lock Screen and Home Screen with the same wallpaper, and just Lock Screen. I see a lot of people have the same problem, but no solution. Can someone help with this?

Firebase Cloud Functions - Detect Changes to List inside Document

I have tried searching around to find how to best do this in Firestore (I am new to nosql/non relational databases). I recently discovered Cloud Functions as a way to send notifications to users of my app when changes have been made to a document in the database. That part is very clear, however I am not able to see the best way to do this for lists that are stored inside that document. Currently my structure has an Image document that was added to the Uploads collection. Each Image has it's own document ID of course. I am trying to send a notification when a new like has been added. My Cloud Function below is attempting to grab the old like list and compare it to the new like list to determine the new value (Or if any changes made at all).

How To Automate Opening Of App?

Hi, I have a question about about automating a task on my Amazon Fire Stick 4k.

To explain, I have rooted my Amazon Fire Stick 4k and replaced the launcher and I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to create a sequence of events (maybe it's called a tasker?) where I would like to either a) create some kind of shortcut on the desktop that when you click it, it will first open my VPN (VPN Client Pro) and connect to my VPN and then open my Comcast Xfinity Stream app or b) When I click on the Comcast Xfinity Stream app on the desktop, it first opens my VPN Client Pro (connects to my VPN), and then opens Xfinity Stream.

I'm not sure how to go about this, so any help is once again greatly appreciated!

POI files into Google Maps

Im looking for an APP to install on my ONE PLUS phone that can show my Points Of Intrest in Google Maps. MY colleague has a great app that does this called POI Viewer on his Iphone. I cannot find a similar app on the Android platform.
I have several catagories of POI and one has well over 5000 points across the country but cannot be viewed in Google My Maps due it being to large, However the Iphone of my colleague handles it perfeclty.
So is there an app out there that can help me out ?

Help Data switch stuck

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has had the same issue and been able to fix it.

The issue is that the mobile data switch is greyed over so unable to switch it on and off meaning data is not currently working.

I've tried these already
Switching to aeroplane mode
Resetting to factory
Taking sim in and out
Resetting the APN
Changing network provider

Nothing is working so far

This happened a week after getting WiFi so I think it's probably linked.

S9+ Google Play Services Massive Battery Drain

Someone who can help me out? I have massive battery drains everyday at background, running Google Play Services. Phone drops arround 75-90% battery during the day.. 10-13 hours.

Things I have tried so far:

- Installing Beta, Removed and Installes again
- Cache cleared all Google apps via hard reset
- Sign in and out from Google account.
- Disabled auto sync of all accounts.

Help Optomizing app 1 of 1 MY SOLUTION

My RCA Venturer Saturn 10" pro began giving this fault," Optomizing app 1 of 1" every time I went to switch the thing on. I googled solutions like deleting the last programme installed or clearing the cache etc to no avail. I then did a factory reset but DID NOT include a four digit code. One of the google programmes tried to force me to include one (the document writer I think) but I refused and found one which didnt go online to access files instead. Since I did this the Optomizing app 1 of 1 has NEVER reoccoured plus I can install whatever programme I like and there is no faults happening.

Annoying Pop-Up

Hi,
I have a really annoying problem regarding a pop-up which has just started to appear on my Galaxy S7...( Android 8.0.0 : Patch level 1 March 2020)

It appears every few minutes when I'm using my phone and is really "doing my head in" and I can't get rid of it. The pop-up is as follows :

This service is active when location is on and High accuracy, or Battery saving mode is selected.
DISAGREE AGREE

I click on the DISAGREE option but it just keeps coming back.... I refuse to click on AGREE....
I don't like the idea of Google 'possibly' collecting my location data - there is more than enough snooping on our privacy without adding to it by agreeing to more....

The popup states "This service is active when location is on and High accuracy, or Battery saving mode is selected."
I checked these settings and the Location is set to 'Phone Only' and the Battery saving mode is OFF. Even if I turn off the Location setting, when the Popup appears, it turns the Location setting back ON !!!


There are many other reports of this particular intrusion on the internet, going back to 2018.
If I disable the WiFi then the popup does not appear.... As soon as I re-enable WiFi the popup immediately reappears.

Any advice on how to get rid of this Pest would be very much appreciated.

Littering is my pet peeve!

There has been so much trash in my neighborhood lately. I bought a trash picker upper claw like an old man and am now cleaning up my block a few times a week. Someone suggested I download this app so I'm giving it a try!

It's rather cumbersome to take a photo of each piece of trash you pick up but I'm curious to see if this project goes anywhere. Has anyone else downloaded this?
