Hi everyone, last night two of my devices (Samsung Galaxy S8 and an S9) during the night have completely reset with a hard reset losing all that was on it. I wonder if this anomaly is an android bug? I think it's a serious thing that a device resets itself without user intervention. Is there an explanation for this?

Please can someone let me know if there's a way I can upgrade my Hudl 2 from Android 4.4 2 to Android 5.1.1 now in 2020.

Hi All, after copying a doc file directory from a Dell laptop some of the files cant be seen on my s116 cheapo Chinese tablet. If I search I can find them in the emulated directory but the file manager on tablet does not show them. It drives me crazy. I tried to copy separately the file but it cant be seen among the other files. The file is not hidden and is a docx file (like many of them I can see).
Huh, drives me really mad. Any idea? thank you!!

Hello. My phone (huawei mate 10 LITE) is broken and only wifi is working ( I can see it is connected to the my home network by checking my router’s web interface). The usb cable doesn’t establish a data transfer connection. It only charges the phone. No screen, no mhl support, no nothing.

beside wifi, I can install apps to the device over play store’s web page.

so my question is; is there any ftp app or apk like starts work immediately as soon as installed to the device? I know that doesn’t make sense and it sounds like hacking the phone but all I have got is device’s local IP address.

Or of course I am open any other suggesstions too.

I just found a notification about the Verizon App Manager. I had no idea what it was so I Googled it. I didn't like what I read. I haven't read a lot yet, but I think it "suggests" apps to use and downloads them to your phone. I'm not 100% sure it does that, but the little I've read says it does. So I opted out and then disabled it until I have more time to get more information. I wanted to warn everyone to be careful before accepting it.

What's the easiest way to transfer sdcard data to another sdcard without using a computer ? ..

My phone has 16gb storage. I'm using a 64gb sdcard .. I bought a 256gb sdcard and I want to transfer to 64gb data to the new 256gb card ... I can't just move the folders to my phone storage and put in 256gb card and move the folders to new card because obviously phone storage is not big enough... Having to switch cards and move 1 folder at a time takes way too long..

Any suggestions ?......

Hello. Odd question: I have a Moto X4 running Android 9. I've set it up to make a notification sound any time I receive an email (gmail) so it will wake me up in the morning if one arrives. However, for a good while now it hasn't been making the notification sound when I'm still asleep in the morning. It isn't until I wake up and press the power button that I finally get the notification sound a few seconds later, and it's often for an email that arrived an hour ago or more. Also, it's very unlikely that it's making an additional sound beforehand that isn't waking me up because I'm an extremely light sleeper. How do I disable this feature so it makes the sound regardless of the time of day?

I have an existing group on my homescreen to which I want to add another file shortcut. When I try to move the shortcut into the group, the group dances out of the way and won't allow me to drop it into the group.

Recently, I reset my device because I thought it could have some kind of malware as it began to become too hot when doing normal tasks.

After the reset was finished, I was surprised to find out that somethings were different than before and still I found the device getting too hot occasionally.

For instance, one of the things that it seemed different to me was the fact the "lockdown mode" option (usually appearing when turning off the device) was not there anymore.

Also, the option to reset the google advertising id (previously present in the section 'Privacy' at Settings), was not present.

I tried to to reset some other times the device. The option for resetting the google advertising id just appears back when I reset the device without the sim card. As soon as I get the card inside the phone, the option dissapears again.



Should I be concerned? Would it be possible that the simcard has some kind of malware?

I have been using my Pixel 3a for 5 months and have absolutely loved it.

Although last night when I was using it in a decently lit environment, on 0% brightness, the screen went into a shade of yellow tinge , kind of like the night light, but not entirely. Now I'm not sure if this is a software glitch or a hardware problem. I tried booting it into the safe mode to check if any third party apps are causing it, but no luck, the yellow tinge still prevails.

At higher brightness this tinge is visible lesser, but i think it's still there, just the high brightness makes it a little better.

Anyone had this problem before? I'm really hoping this is a software glitch and looking to solve it all by myself. It's definitely not possible for me to go visit a Google Pixel store at times like these to get it fixed. Fingers crossed!

I really hope I am in the right place I have looked all over and can't find anything like what I need that's recent and if there is an old post, I would think, it might be out of date.

I have Googled and found that some of the "instructions" say you can't transfer data from a newer Android version to an older one (this is what I am trying to do) but I am not trying to "make" the tablet a version 9, just want my stuff and to have what I have on my phone on it and I alkready know that everything is not compatible, I just want what is.

I have read that you can use a third party app...then read that they can be dangerous ugh! So I originally "thought" I could just use Google Drive, which I have on both, and I have no clue how...when I backup my phone to Google Drive, everything I would want backs up, but when I open it on the tablet, there is a file (ipk?) but it says "can't open". Then I thought I could just copy the data to a folder on my laptop, and plug the Tablet in the laptop and just transfer, then I thought I could put the tablets SD card in laptop and copy that way........so I am totally confused as to how to do this. I am not totally tech illiterate, but I am feeling that way right about now lol.
I have most of my data backed up to my 16GB phone SD card, and have 32GB of storage on the tablet and a 32GB SD card for it as well.

Can anyone pleeeeaaaasee help me? I am pulling my hair out.

You know how one thing leads to another? [I remember an '80s song to that effect... ] Well, here's what happened:

My helper, who is very handy and also has a very handy boyfriend, pointed out that the bathroom light fixture is on its last legs, and they could install a new one. She also asked if they could paint the bathroom. Both of these projects were on my list before I got sick. I had just had the exterior of the house painted, had several light fixtures and faucets replaced, bought new dining room and other furniture, and was about to have the interior of the house painted, and that bathroom light fixture replaced, when things changed.

So I said yes!

And then it happened...

The ultra-bright white is for the walls, and the soft blue for the door and trim.

Now I can't wait for it to get done! [We're still waiting on a couple of items.]

I've taken 'before' photos, and will be happy when I can take 'after.'

I bought an unlocked Galaxy S20 and put it on the Good2Go Mobile n/w (uses AT&T’s n/w). Apparently I’m unable to use wifi calling on G2G’s n/w because of AT&T restrictions.

Question: what if I bought an AT&T locked phone and then unlocked it – would I be able to use the wifi calling feature on the G2G n/w? My thinking: the IMEI would (should??) be registered w/AT&T…wondering if this would work or if AT&T would again block the feature since it would not be directly on their network.

I strongly preferred the alarm clock of Android 7.x over Android 8.x. Is there a way to use the alarm clock from Android 7.x on Android 8.x phones? The way the days of the week could be selected was what I liked. Various alarm clock apps don't have the benefits of the Android 7.x default alarm clock.

I've been on this forum many years with many Samsung phones, but last post was a couple years ago because I "gasp" got a iPhone 8+. I didn't want to, but my wife insisted so we could get the two for one deal at T-Mobile. So I said OK, at least I can try it to see what Apple is all about as I've never had one before. Instant regret! but stuck on the two year contract. After having this iPhone 8+ for a year and half, I can tell you there is no comparison between iphone and Samsung. I hated the iPhone! So, last week, I parked the iPhone in the box and managed to buy me a brand new purple S9 plus for $300 off eBay, lot better than the new $999 price in 2018. I'm not about to buy the new S20 for $1,300. I'll wait another year or two for that. Anyways very happy with this S9 plus so far! Four things I liked instantly over the iPhone was:
1. PURPLE!!! my favorite color.

2. Much better notifications, alerts for deaf, yup I'm deaf now due to Tinnitus. I have it set up for Text only... the screen comes on, the camera flash goes off 5 times, it vibrates 5 times hard and every 3 minutes after that till answered, light around the edge comes on and off and shows up on lock screen. Not that's alerts! iphone only had vibration and the camera flash light, oh yes, the screen does come on too.

3. The Camera and software and ease of use. The iPhone was crummy about uploading photos, and must jump through many hoops to do so, time consuming. Galaxy is simple, plug in and wham! folders show up for download or uploading. More ways to customize it and better camera too.

4. Lighter and more slender than iPhone 8+ yet bigger screen, 6.2 than iPhone 8+ 5.8 screen.
I like the screen better as it really has vibrant deep colors.

* I have a feeling the iPhone is a tougher phone than the Samsung. I was in the Philippines six months ago and my phone which was out of the case for whatever reasons slipped out of my pocket while riding a motorbike cab and skidded down the rough pavement. I was amazed it still worked, no damage or scratches on screen, (had screen shield) but the back was beat up, scratches a few small cracks etc. I don't think the Samsung could survive that.

The two phones were only six months apart, iPhone September 2017, Samsung March 2018, so fair comparison.

Did I say I hated iPhone.
